Some things to point out are:
1 - the moving tokens are not what I thought they would be (mario, luigi, peach, etc). They are actually items from different nintendo games. For example, there is a sword, a samus helmet, one of those tree like things that were in animal crossing that you would save the game too, etc. sort of disappointing but I quickly got over it.
2 - The items you can buy are the characters from different nintendo games. There are no longer places like in classic monopoly, but characters you can own. Characters are grouped together in groups of 2 or 3 depending on what game they are from. For example, you can own wario, peach, kirby, samus, king dedede, link, etc. And of course, mario and luigi. The railroads and utilities are still in the game, but they are items such as piranha plant, gunship, mario kart, etc. The free parking space is still in the game, as is the jail system.
3 - The cards that were used in previous monopolys are no longer named, now they are block cards and a question mark card. Each card has to do with a nintendo theme such as save the princess collect 100 dollars and so on.
This is a great game for nintendo gamers, especially younger children. If you were having a problem getting your child into games involving money and skills, this game might be good at that since the would be staring at nintendo characters on the board, as well as mario images on money and cards having to do with the game. But My friend and I are both in our 20's and we had a blast with it as well. If you liked monopoly, you will sure like this game as well. If you have a nintendo fan in the house, or are one yourself, you will probably like it a bit more.
One thing I felt the game lacked was the number of hotels and houses they supply you with. there is not many at all so you may need to use a creative way to mark properties off as we did. not a deal breaker but kind of annoying.
With that being said, I feel like some of the spaces chosen could have been more well thought out, and the same is true for the tokens.
Now, when it comes to the Community Chest/Chance (deemed "Block" and "? Block") things get rather questionable. These cards weren't at all inventive and were very lacking in creativity. They all do something exactly like the original cards, which is understandable - Monopoly is a game that has been fine tuned for almost a century; it just works. But "You inherited a castle, receive $100"? What? I played Super Mario Bros. as much as the next guy (probably a lot more actually), but while you went into castles to defeat enemies, and it's a somewhat recurring theme in the older games in the series, what does anything have to do with inheriting a castle? Most bothersome is that while the board has characters from all over Nintendo's line-up, these cards are 100% Mario related. Luigi and Peach barely even appear on them, it's almost completely Mario himself.
In my personal opinion, with what they ended up doing with this game, it would have been much better to have simply made it Mario Monopoly, making the properties actual locations from within the Mario Universe, rather than buying Characters for people to stay at, and houses/hotels (which look exactly the same as the original game, but are referred to as "power-ups" and "invincibilities" respectively) for those characters. (yeah, it doesn't make sense).
I think if this game utilized the full Nintendo Universe, instead of just adding some characters to the board as a gimmick, it would be the best version of Monopoly out. But as it stands, it's still a great game with a fun little change of scenery.
Add in that it's Nintendo and we couldn't have been happier. Though it makes it completely predictable what the kids are going to do, as they will fight over who gets the Zelda properties despite good strategy! ;)
The pieces are solid, no chipping or denting. A couple of them aren't great about staying upright, but I remember the same issue with the dog in the original, so nothing to really complain about there.

Für SuperMario und Monopoli Fans ein Muss!
Die Figuren sind phantasievoll zusammengestellt. Mein Kind freut sich jedes Mal darüber.
We also are pretty geeky and love a good old board game such as monopoly so this is perfect.
The instructions are easy to understand and everything is well made.
He loved it and I got loads of girlfriend points!
