Oz Vessalius, heir to the prestigious Vessalius family, is staying at a mansion for his coming-of-age ceremony. While exploring the mansion with his attendant Gilbert, Oz hears the sound of a music box. Drawn to the melody, they unexpectedly discover a grave beneath the courtyard. When Oz touches the pocket watch on that grave, his mind gets sent to another world.

Before Oz's coming-of-age ceremony, his uncle Oscar introduces him to Duchess Rainsworth's granddaughter. Oz instantly falls in love. Oz's ceremony takes place with hundreds of onlookers. As he recites his oath, the Silent Clock moves for the first time in 100 years. The bell rings with a deafening noise as intruders interrupt the ceremony!

Oz is dropped into the Abyss by a mysterious band of intruders during his coming-of-age ceremony. Still confused about what happened, bizarre-looking dolls begin to attack him. He is quickly captured by one of the giant dolls and certain death seems inevitable!

After returning from the Abyss, Oz finds himself at one of the Rainsworth family's mansions. He is welcomed by Sharon, Break, and Raven, who inform him that Pandora, an organization formed by the Four Great Dukes, are after him. Upon learning about his impending capture, Alice manipulates Oz's body and takes Sharon hostage.

Oz and Alice are practically forced to cooperate with Break. A string of murders by a Chain occurred in a town called Northumbria and they are the ones being sent to investigate it with Raven. Assuming that Alice is a special Chain, the Illegal Contractor tries to devour her.

Oz returns to the mansion where his coming-of-age ceremony was held in an effort to find clues regarding Alice's memories. This mansion had remained under Pandora's jurisdiction ever since Oz had been sent to the Abyss. He reminisces about his past and walks around the mansion. Meanwhile, Raven gets ambushed by other Pandora officials at the Silent Clock.
