In what would be Hall of Fame coach John Madden's only Super Bowl win; the Oakland Raiders had no problem dismantling the Minnesota Vikings, 32-14. This would be the last time the Vikings would be in the Super Bowl as they set a record with four Super Bowl losses.

Tom Landry and Roger Staubach would taste success for the second time time in Super Bowl XII. The Denver Broncos committed seven turnovers and were overwhelmed, 27-10.

It was a rematch of Super Bowl X with the Pittsburgh Steelers meeting the Dallas Cowboys. In a game featuring numerous future Hall of Fame players, Pittsburgh triumphed, 35-31, in one of the greatest games in Super Bowl history.

In their fourth Super Bowl victory, the Steelers were tested by the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams, led by back-up quarterback Vince Ferragamo, held a fourth-quarter lead before the Steelers rallied for a 31-19 victory.

It was their first shot at a Championship since 1960 and Ron Jaworski did not want to disappoint the fans of his Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, they were no match for Jim Plunkett's MVP performance with his Oakland Raiders. The Raiders won their second Super Bowl title with a 27-10 victory over the Eagles.

The dynasty of Joe Montana and his San Francisco 49ers would begin with Super Bowl XVI. Montana had an MVP performance as he led his team over the Cincinatti Bengals, 26-21.
