Product Description
One of the most decorated knives of all time is back.
The Snap Lock held the knife world in rapture when it won the Most Innovative Knife Award at the 2004 Blade Show. We’re breathing new life into this unique everyday carry folder. If you think that it might be all show and no substance, spend a mere minute with it and you’ll do a 180° swing yourself.
To open, simply press the front cam lever mechanism down with your thumb and rotate the blade outward until it fully extends and securely clicks into place. To close the knife, press down on the cam lever to disengage then swing the blade back into the closed position. Once the blade is in the closed position, no part of the edge is exposed and the knife is secure to carry.
From his shop in Abingdon, Virginia, Ed Van Hoy dreamed up this historical design. It’s not only one of the most unique knives on the market, but it’s one of the most useful—it features a money clip, and is remarkably low profile so it’s never a burden to have on hand.
The stainless steel blade has a subtle drop point shape. When closed, the matching wishbone frame is a 100% effective blade edge guard. The unique open mechanism becomes instantly intuitive once you push down on the front cam lever then rotate the blade outwards for a full 180°. The handle features a one position pocket clip for convenient carry.
This knife made history, get your hands on a piece of Ed’s leg-acy with the Snap Lock reissue.

I am terrible with my fledgling efforts to master the flip but I will persevere.
There is only one con I can find about it, and that is while the blade is locked from side to side play very securely I am not sure of the strength of the pins it pivots on and the flexibility of the frame if you were to bear down really hard on the handle while cutting I suspect you might be able to dislodge the blade from the handle, but it would take some pretty serious pressure which this is not a knife for heavy tasks, so if you break it doing that, you probably should be using a heavy duty knife.
