When I was shopping around, I didn’t want to get too deep into different webcam/light setups. I just wanted something simple with a few color options to get a good image that didn’t totally wash me out. I figured this would be fine and I could get a second one later if I really needed. This light actually did the trick perfectly and I haven’t needed a second one. You can adjust the color temperature and brightness with simple buttons on the back of the light. The USB cable makes connecting easy. You can download Logitech’s G Hub software if you want to control and sync the light from your desktop, but I haven’t bothered with that. I have it plugged in to my powerstrip so I don’t need reconnect when swapping laptops.
The mount is also very convenient. It sits nicely on top of the monitor. The height is adjustable and it rotates and tilts for whatever angle you might need. They say the mount isn’t for curved monitors, but it sits on mine just fine. As long as it’s towards the center of your curved monitor it has enough purchase to hang on without issues.
You can also unscrew the light from the mount and attach it to any standard camera tripod. I really appreciate Logitech adding this feature. It gives the light so much more utility. You can really customize the placement or even take it on the go with a battery pack. On max brightness, the light pulls around 6.0-6.4 watts, with the coolest light temperature pulling 0.2-0.3 watts more than the warmest light temperature. With my 13000mAh/46.8Wh battery pack, that’s about 7.6 hours of power for the light.
The light itself can get warm during prolonged use, but the LEDs themselves don’t put out much, if any, heat which keeps things comfortable.
Overall, great product. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something simple and reliable to improve their appearance on video calls. If I do get another light in the future, I’ll be getting another Logitech.
