Twelve Nights of Ruin Kindle Edition

3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 61 ratings

One chance to redeem her reputation
Holly Mayweather bet on the wrong beau - and scuffed her glittering reputation as one of London's wittiest sophisticates. To save herself from ruin, she accepts betrothal to a soldier she's never met.

One unexpected bride
Reynard Sharp's battle scars run deep. He has resigned himself to a loveless marriage. But one look at his new bride leaves the stoic soldier's heart pounding…and their first kiss sends him reeling.

One Christmas to come together
They delay their nuptials in a bid to find common ground. Can Holly let down her defenses long enough to get Rey to trust that there is more to her than glib remarks and a pretty face? Or will he let his need for control and discipline sabotage their chance for happiness?

This is an opposites attract, arranged marriage Regency romance novella. Always a happy ever after and no cliffhangers!

This wonderful Regency romance gave me an afternoon of reading pleasure as it kept me entertained and involved in all that was happening from the first word to the last. I loved the undeniable chemistry between Holly Mayweather and Reynard Sharp who is soon to be knighted because of his great efforts as a spy and Wellington's chief strategist in the war against Napoleon. If you enjoy well crafted historical romantic novellas, you will love "Twelve Nights of Ruin". I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.

An entertaining and romantic read. I enjoyed Holly and Reynard's journey to love.

I've got to be honest here and say that my heart was a bit torn here. I thought this was a very good read that had a very swoon worthy hero but the heroine was a viper. I did not like Holly at all and if I am totally frank I felt that Reynard deserved so much better. That is just my personal opinion though and it should not to be taken as a reflection on the book as a whole because the writing is well done. This was just one of those times that a character really rubbed me the wrong way. Other than her though, this was an enjoyable read. This is my candid review that I am posting of my own accord.

I'm barely a few pages in, and the way the author switches between past tense and present tense is incredibly distracting. Why didn't the editor catch this before it was published? Deleting this book unrea

I previously read this novel as part of the anthology, Once Upon a Twelfth Night, and found it entertaining and romantic. Holly Mayweather has unfortunately earned herself a bit of a reputation due to holding out for a marriage proposal from a man whose interests do not lean towards a conventional marriage. Thwarting her parents' plans for her, Holly is finally forced into a marriage of convenience to a soldier who has been newly knighted for his service to the Crown. It's not that she doesn't find Reynard Sharp interesting, but rather that they are so very different from one another. Reynard sees in Holly everything he would wish for in a wife, but as they start to reveal their true personalities to one another, the wheels come off. Reynard and Holly find themselves multiple times before the vicar in their on-again, off-again marriage, but ultimately they do come to an understanding of one another that reveals their true strengths. I received a copy of this entertaining romance as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Holly’s little blunder left her little option but to accept the betrothal of an unknown soldier. Rey just wants a wife who will be faithful to him. Holly is not all she portrays outwardly, she just wants to be appreciated not being just a pretty face or a baby making machine. Both have a lot to work through before they are able to accept who they are. A good read with a lovely ending. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review, enjoy.

Rey just wants a wife who will be faithful in all things. Holly is not whom she seems to be. She just wants to be appreciated and to not be just a baby making machine. These two have a lot to work out. Really good and has a wonderful ending. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.

This is a fun, entertaining holiday novella. Reynard and Holly are entertaining, intriguing, relatable, fun characters. Their romance is full of twists and turns that were fun to read. It was fun watching these two find love in a situation outside their control. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story.
