London Bridge (London Lords Book 9) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 299 ratings

Halfway around the world wasn’t far enough away to keep my best mate’s sister safe from our enemies... or my touch. I will have her. Even though she’s the beauty and I’m the beast.

Emma Varma remembers me as the black hearted prince of Eton prep... but the hardened man I’ve become won’t be so easily burned.

Her return to London has nothing to do with me and everything to do with retribution.

Gone is the wild child I remember and in her place a striking beauty, tempting me with a second chance to break all the rules that I missed the first time... before I was man enough to make her mine.

Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling author, Nana Malone writes Sexy Feel-Good Romance and loves all things romance and adventure.

That love started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

A riveting start to the Speak No Evil Trilogy
5 Stars
A riveting start to the Speak No Evil Trilogy
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5STEAM: 🔥🔥🔥I knew I was in for a world of hurt leading up to that cliffhanger, but for Nana Malone, I jumped in anyway. And the hurt was worth it.London Bridge is the first of the Speak No Evil trilogy and tells the story of Bridge Edgerton and Emma Varma. We got a glimpse of their history in Bridge of Love, and the trilogy starts years later. Emma, now an adult, is coming back to London to take a more active role in the London Lords' plan to avenge her brother's death.Bridge has other problems. Getting caught in a scandal, he endangers their plan to get to the last person involved in Toby's death. With his previous engagement no longer an option to clean up his reputation, he is left with no choice: Fake a marriage with Emma for a year to secure a contract and put their revenge plan in motion. The only thing he and the Lords did not account for is his and Emma's feelings for each other. Activated by the kiss they shared in the prologue, the attraction lay dormant during their time apart. Now being in close proximity and having to fake affection have stirred back to life. And that chemistry is hotter than the fire of a thousand suns. I love the back-and-forth between Bridge and Emma, and Nana Malone just gives us a wonderful variety of intimate moments from fast and rough to loving and gentle. All of them sexy AF.I struggled a bit with Bridge's character arc. He puts their plan in a precarious position because he can't keep his parts in his pants. While I understand his sowing of wild oats is somewhat of a rebellion against his previous fiancé and his overbearing, abusive father, his actions hurt him and his friends more than they hurt his enemies. The history and grief he shares with Emma lay a great foundation for their connection, but remembering his philandering ways as he reconnects with her just did not sit well with me.Emma, on the other hand, is spectacular. She's smart, feisty, and cunning. I love seeing her in action at her new job in London, because she takes no prisoners. "Lil Tobes," as the London lads refer to her, is not so little anymore when she stands her ground. Her heart has been frozen for so long that she does not really know affection, so when Bridge, her friends, and even her mom show their love for her, it was heartbreaking to see how surprised she gets. The book does end in a cliffy -- not a spoiler obviously since it is a trilogy -- and it is mind-blowing. The suspense in this book is typical Nana Malone; it takes your breath away and leaves you at the edge of your seat. Characters from previous series are well-integrated that the series can stand on its own, though it was a bit overwhelming to meet them all at the start.

This is book one in Bridge series; you really need to read the other books Bens and East story to know what is going on.
Bridge is not like the other guys he grew up on the other side of the tracks.but he father was wealthy and put him in the seton where he Mets his friends Toby,Drew,Easton. And Ben . They all joined an elite group because their father. But after the death of Toby they didn’t feel the group was good. Wanted to know who he killed their friends. Ben East and bridge worked for Lordon lords which they started. While running their business they took down 2 of the men who killed their friend and were working on the 3 and final part but there is a web of mystery deceit and very risky.
Emma has been working with the guys to find out who killed her brother.
The problem is that she also is in love withBridge they had a small past kiss that left her wanting more. So when bridge came to her asked her to be pretend wife for now she said ok and they formed a team to find her brothers killer. Problem is she is working for the Middleton who is there prime suspect.
Lost os twist and turn and lot of Emma not listening to Bridge who wants to keep her safe. Because he isn’t filling her in fully.
The two have great chemistry and passion.
This story ends on a cliffhanger .

3.75 stars- LONDON BRIDGE is the first full-length instalment in Nana Malone’s contemporary, adult SPEAK NO EVIL erotic romance series focusing on twenty-six year old crisis manager Emma Varma, and twenty-nine year old, billionaire businessman Bridge Edgerton. SPEAK NO EVIL is a spin off from, and interconnected with the author’s SEE NO EVIL and HEAR NO EVIL trilogies, as well as crossing over with several of the author’s previous series.

SOME BACKGROUND: Approximately eleven years earlier, during their initiation into the group known as The Elite, Ben Covington, Easton Hale, and Bridge Edgerton lost their best friend and fellow Elite pledge Tobias ‘Toby’ Varma when things quickly spiralled out of control, and the people in charge refused to intercede. Seeking revenge against the people and families they hold responsible for Toby’s death, Ben, East and Bridge walk a fine line between right and wrong in an effort to take down everyone involved.

NOTE: For more backstory on Bridge and Emma’s earlier relationship, the author has released a prequel novella BRIDGE OF LOVE that takes place prior to Toby’s death, over eleven years earlier.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Bridge and Emma) LONDON BRIDGE follows the building romance and relationship between twenty-six near old crisis manager/fixer Emma Varma, and twenty-nine year old, billionaire businessman Bridge Edgerton. Bridge, along with his best friends and business partners Ben Covington and Easton Hale, are biding their time in an effort to take down the final man/family responsible for the death of their friend Toby Varma but Bridge never expected to be caught in a scandal that threatened an upcoming, lucrative financial deal. In an effort to prove /sway the investor that he is not what the paparazzi see, Bridge claims to be getting married with no solid prospects on the horizon. Meanwhile, Emma Varma is disheartened about the lack of progress on taking down her brother’s killers, and begins an investigation of her own, placing herself in the direct line of fire. Having loved Bridge Edgerton since she was ten years old, Emma reluctantly agrees to play fiancee and wife to our story line hero, a position that is about to place a bigger target on her back than anyone could have every imagined but as Bridge and Emma begin life as a married couple, the ‘team’ discover that Emma has a stalker, and Bridge’s past is about to destroy the heart of the woman with whom he is falling in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Bridge and Emma, and the potential fall-out as obsession, betrayal and vengeance take aim at our story line couple.

The relationship between Emma and Bridge is a marriage of convenience, a best friend’s little sister relationship that reveals years of unrequited love between our story line couple. Emma has pined after her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember, having watched from the sidelines as Bridge’s $ex life began to implode. Six weeks earlier, Bridge had sent Emma and her mother to America, to protect our heroine from the fall-out of the ongoing investigation and vengeance into Toby Varma’s death, but with her return to England, Emma is determined to stay involved, even if it means risking her life, and her relationship with the man that she loves. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters include Ben Covington and Olivia Ashong (See No Evil Trilogy), Easton Hale and Nyla Kincaid (Hear No Evil Trilogy). We are introduced to Francis Middleton, the final target of Ben, Easton and Bridge, as well as Bridge’s mother, his father Lord Edmond Edgerton, Bridge’s ex Mina, and Emma’s mother Pamma.

LONDON BRIDGE is a story of obsession, betrayal and vengeance; family, friendships, relationship and love. The premise is dramatic, captivating and intriguing; the romance is spicy and energetic; the characters are colorful, charismatic, and powerful…but…I do have a couple of issues.

Emma Varma is a strong willed heroine but her actions prove she is a little TSTL (too stupid to live). Warned against getting personally involved with the investigation, Emma has not only made herself a target but has placed herself up close and personal with the people involved, and the fall-out is beginning to unravel. Also, the amount of repetition in the text is off the charts including the use of ‘oh my God’ fifty-five (55) times (mostly during the $ex scenes) , and ‘oh God ‘ twenty-four times. I went back into a few of the previous instalments in the interconnected series, and the author’s use of ‘oh my God’ is overwhelming- twenty-five, twenty-nine and thirty-six times (in just three of the previous books) but fifty-five is over the top. I believe the author’s editors and proof readers should or could suggest other alternatives , or perhaps the author can find another way to relay excitement, shock and sexual pleasure. LONDON BRIDGE ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Well, they've gotten two of the three that were involved in Toby's death. But number three is a whole different kettle of fish. And we're introduced to Bridge's mother. She is a throughly delightful character. Not what one expect for the Mum of such a droll person. She and Telly provide humor to the story. As the London Lords try to get something to bring down Francis, nothing seems to go right and he just keeps slipping away. But the lads will keep trying; and keep Emma under control. Good luck with that.

Bridge Edgerton's London Lords trilogy contiues as Bridge and Emma are teaming up ti take down Middleton, but can you be a team when you are both hiding things?

Bridge and Emma both make mistakes here, but things aren't as they seem. And just what is Daddy Edgerton up to.

I don't think we've seen the last of Mina, and Emma needs to be smarter. I can't wait for the next book.

Nana Malone kills me with the cliffhangers, but she never disappoints me.

I was so excited for Bridge and Emma's seductive story after reading the prequel novella, Bridge of Love. Bridge and Emma have wanted each other since they were young. Emma's brother, Toby, was one of Bridge's best friends, and Toby asked Bridge to watch out for her before he tragically died. Ever since that day, Bridge has kept his promise, and not acted on his attraction for her. Emma always thought her feelings were one sided. Both Emma, and Bridge have wanted to find Toby's killers. Emma has been patiently waiting for Bridge and the other London Lords to make their move. But she is done waiting, and is taking things into her own hands. Bridge has found himself in a jam and must find a fake wife asap before their plans are ruined. He talks Emma into fake marrying him with the understanding she can walk away when their plans to catch Toby's killer are finished. But all too soon, fake actions begin to feel real, and their hearts become even more involved. Emma wants to feel like part of the team, and is furious when Bridge makes decisions without talking to her first. But Emma might be guilty of the same choices. When they can't find a way to work as a team, the threats on Emma's life may result in the same outcome as her brother! This is a fun and suspenseful romance that Malone does so well. The banter between friends is hilarious, it has loads of sexual tension between Bridge and Emma, and a thrilling mystery that keeps you turning the pages, will leave you stunned, and begging for the next book!

I really enjoyed the book, though I found Emma to be rather immature and annoying. I was a little disappointed that the book seemed to spend more time talking about Emma than Bridge and the London Lords. I have enjoyed the series so far and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this trilogy.

Man oh man, I've been waiting for this to come out. The rush from this book is amazing but the journeys only just begun. I hadn't read the previous books, so there is always the back story to go back to, but this... this is amazing on its own. The story begins with a back story and it gives you light to the journey throughout the book, I've pre ordered all the others in this series and I can't wait! The ending of this book had my heart racing... I can't wait for the next one!
