I loved this one. First responders falling in love😍 @€ab always but, he was a military man first. The spice was really good more wholesome and comforting for me but, I really enjoyed it. The action at the end gave an amzing climax to this cute story and the resolution wasn’t super quick like a lot of other stories like to do. The FL was a baddie w/ a wagon and I love that for her. Her character was sweet,assertive, and relatable. I loved how she stood on business even when business didn’t stand on her. Lmao I hope that makes sense. The ML was broody, he wanted to be this super deep hard guy but, really he’s a teddy bear partner. I loved that some of the other side characters weren’t completely 2 dimensional and actually had grit to their design.

So, my reviews are a little backward when it comes to a series. I don't write reviews for each book, but I sum the up all into book 1 reviews. Bad, I know, but it is what it is. This series was my first book by this author. I was introduced to her at a book event in New Orleans, and she sat at my table. Such a sweet and super cool person. I started with this series because I could relate. I have family in Columbia SC, so I had to see what kind of story she could pull out of there. This series has everything romance, hot sex, alpha males, and a little humor. I love it when a man go hard for the woman they love, but also a woman who can hold her own. If you are looking for some new or a new author, this series is a great place to start.

This is a nice, undemanding romantic suspense story. The romance is sort of the instalove variety or at least super quick and the story is simple. But it’s an enjoyable, spicy read. This is the story of Mac, a former SEAL now leader of a SWAT team, and an ER nurse, Sarena, his next door neighbour. There is no meet cute here and the relationship development is a little limited because they start off as neighbors with benefits. There is also unprotected intimacy in this novel with no discussion or concern for responsibility and I know that bothers some people. If it bothers you, you might want to stay away. Other than that, the story quickly develops from being just a sexy neighbour story to being a romance. If you like romantic suspense, it’s a nice, light, not drawn out start to a series featuring a black hero and heroine. Yes I would read more from this series and have already snagged Declan’s book which is next in this series

I really liked the plot and how the story was written but I feel like there could of been more development looking at both main character’s jobs and the two bonding together before the end. The whole dangerous situation felt a little bit rushed and I feel like more could of been done to really give it an authentic feel. Would of loved to see Declan and Ronnie meet setting up for a second book, but that never happens.
