I very much enjoyed reading my first book in the Jennie Kew universe - “Third Time Lucky”. Wolf and Abby seemed made for each other from the beginning. From the time Abby crooked her finger in an invitation to Wolf and he responded after backing up to take a second look - I was ALL IN!!! Excellent writing and storyline. HIGHLY entertaining (I got so many laughs!!), yet absolutely touching and heartbreaking at times (yes, I cried too!!!). I wouldn’t mind my own “Wolfram”. This will not be my last in Ms. Kew’s repertoire.

The start of the story is really awkward. It was just too over the top to be believable. If you can suspend belief and shoulder past this, the book delivers on both a great steamy read as well as emotional growth. Wolfe and Abby feel like real people, with real insecurities, and reactions not just for plot points, but based on what the average person might do or say in similar situations. This makes the book and characters easy to connect with and fall into the story.

There was a bit of tell in the middle of the book, and I am sure a chapter was cut.

*possible spoiler alert*

The issue of the scissors were not explored after Abby's strong reaction until an internal monologue by Abby much later in the book. While I acknowledge that ploughing through all her triggers may be a bit much for a book this length, it did feel like a missed opportunity.

I loved the chemistry between the two main characters. I loved that there was no cheating involved (that's a trigger for me). The author wrote a heroine who was strong, not a perfect barbie of a woman, and her hero loved her as she was. Real life! Thank you. It was refreshing. I could relate to her character. Wolf and Abby both dealt with heartbreak and betrayal in their lives and are coming to terms with it. Thanks to having to come on a writing retreat thanks to his agent he met his angel! Abby was feeling anything but thanks to the last relationships she was in that left her feeling inadequate and insecure. Neither was expecting anything to come of their time spent together but fate had other plans. In the end Wolf and Abby found what they were both missing. Now that they have found it, will he ex husband stay out of her life long enough for her to get a second chance for happiness?

Third Time Lucky, the first story about the Bennett siblings, is a very intense, hot romance with lots of kinky elements, a strong and determined Dom and a deeply submissive but scared sub. And who can blame her after the experiences she's had. Just reading about them made me sad, mad and so hopeful that they'd get it right third time around. The ending is at once heart-wrenching and hilarious but so happy! I'm looking forward to seeing more of this couple when her brothers get their stories.
