4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 1,551 ratings

War is coming for the dragon knights…but love may find them first.

A chance meeting with a young male dragon seals the fate of one adventurous female poacher. The dragon’s partner, a ruggedly handsome knight named Gareth, takes one look at the shapely woman and decides to do a little poaching of his own.

Sir Gareth both seduces and falls deeply in love with the girl who is not only unafraid of dragons but also possesses a rare gift—she can hear the beasts’ silent speech. He wants her for his mate, but mating with a knight is no simple thing. To accept a knight, a woman must also accept the dragon, the dragon’s mate…and her knight, Lars, too.

She is at first shocked, then intrigued by the lusty life in the Lair. But war is in the making and only the knights and dragons have a chance at ending it before it destroys their land and their lives.

Love this one!

Very unique take on dragons and their knights/riders.

Each dragon pair is m/f but they have male knights they bond with. In order to keep their riders safe they (the dragons) can only mate when their riders find a bride to share. And not just any bride but their fated mate. Which is why so many dragons and their knights are single in the Lair.

This is book one and sets up the plot for the series. Tensions are rising as a new king seeks to use skiths (snake like monsters) to invade the kingdom and start a war.

Belora is found by dragon, Kelvan, who brings her to his knight partner Gareth. Gareth knows from his first look at Belora that she is his mate. And Belora proves to be one of the rare humans who can communicate with dragons via mind speech.

The dragons in this series are very sentient and communicate freely with any human who is able to hear them via mind speech.

The main pairing in this book is Belora with Gareth and Lars. But we see the beginnings of a relationship with Belora’s mother, Adora and Jared.

A mfm fated mates romantic fantasy with dragons, magic, monsters and happily ever afters. High high erotic heat, instalove and sharing. Magical healers and uncovered secrets. Found family and comforting touch.

Multiple povs told in third person

Characters-

Belora - human with healing power
Adora - human with healing power and Belora’s mother, had been practically raised by Kelzy when younger

I enjoyed the book and the characters I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 because I too feel that the author could have backed off a little with all the erotica. The story line is a good one but needs to be developed more. Some reviews were complaining about the link between rider, dragon and sex. If anyone who has read the" Dragonriders of Pern" series would know this has already been established in Dragon fantasy lore. However where as the Pern series down plays the sexual side of the relationships Maiden Flight is in your face erotica. I do agree there needs to be a warning that this is an ADULT dragon fantasy novel and not for young adults. The series has great promise and I'm hoping that the next book goes more into the story line with a little sex thrown it ;)

I like the plot and storyline very much. The characters are very easy to get you on their side, as exciting things begin to happen to the mother and adult child.
I very highly recommend it.

3-3.5 stars

This was a pretty good story. It's the first I've read by Bianca D'Arc but based on this I might try more of her work in the future.

Bolera is 18 and lives alone with her mother. She's out hunting a deer one day when, right after she shot it in the heart with her arrow, a dragon comes down and takes off with her deer. She chases him and finds where he lands and starts insisting that he give her back the deer. Instead of giving it back, the dragon carries her off...

Gareth is a knight and the rider/partner of a dragon. He's surprised to find his dragon, Kelvan, flying in the a young woman along for the ride. Kelvan informs Gareth that she can hear dragon thoughts (a requirement for a mate to a dragon's knight) and leaves her there with Gareth. Gareth feels an attraction to her immediately and seduces her, realizing she's his true mate.

Gareth convinces Bolera (and her mother) to come back to the Lair with them for a visit (although he has every intention of convincing her to stay). Because it's a "mating" that has a mystical element it's pretty much a "love at first sight" for them both and Bolera agrees to be Gareth's wife (aka mate). There are added intricacies that comes with knight/dragon matings that Bolera has to accept. When Bolera and Gareth mate it gives Kelvan the ability to claim his mate (dragon's can't before their knight's have mates because the mating fever would drive the knights mad otherwise). Now that Gareth found Bolera, Kelvan can claim his mate, Rohtina (a female dragon). Rohtina's knight is Lars. By tradition, both knights become husbands to the woman...in this case Bolera. It's actually pretty easy because of the whole mutual mystical attraction thing they have going. Bolera is a bit freaked by the idea of 2 men but is also attracted to both and has a hard time resisting. She does accept them and they merge in to a family (Bolera, Gareth, Lars, Kelvan and Rohtina).

There is a bit of an action plot in the story due to an upcoming war with the neighboring country. There are creatures (being sent over b the enemy country) that are causing issues and the dragons have been sent to deal with them. At one point, there's a skirmish with the creatures and Rohtina is badly hurt. Bolera ends up being the one to save her and finds out some interesting possibilities on her origins along with the possibility of finding her lost twin sisters. The story concludes in a nice HEA.

This was an enjoyable read. I liked the world and the dragon mythos. It's a cool premise and the rest of the series looks interesting.

What could be better than to speak with a dragon? Maybe to be taken to his knight partner. It’s love and lust at first sight but there’s more. It seems the dragon also wants a mate and her knight partner needs Belora as well. Two knights controlled by the lusting frenzy of their dragons. Ahhh bliss!

The story was great. I loved the concept. Well written. Hot steam romantic scenes.... I have read up to book 3. When I finish book 3 I will no longer continue with the series.... the stories are all pretty much the same and being constantly interrupted with hot steamy sex scenes is becoming annoying... The story plot is GREAT it needs to be further developed as do the characters. These books should be 500 pages not crammed into 200.

This was a really good book. I enjoyed it immensely and had a hard time putting it down. It was full of mystery, intrigue, romance and real steamy hot sex. You can only dream of having not one but two gorgeous guys feeling that way about you.
I was a little disappointed about the ending as it kinda leaves you wondering what will happen next and I don't like having to buy another book to find out.

Honestly one of the best and most entertaining books I read in some time. The ideas of dragons and their knights as well as the never ending soul mate theme is not new, but the author combines them into a funny, heart warming and unusual story-just wonderful. The stories of the dragon knights will give you countless enjoyable hours. Truth be told, there are repetitions, if you don't like two (or more precisely, three) people fawning over each other, you'll get sick to your stomach. And I made a break after the 4th book because it started to drag on and to repeat itself.... but I'll start the 5th now! Try the first and than others from Bianca D'Arc... one of my favourite authors.

This is quite different from what I usually read? I like paranormal but usually vampires or werewolfs!!! But I have to say I found this book to be quite refreshing and original. The story line was good, the characters were likeable, and the threesomes was sensual rather than just crude sex? I'm of to buy the 2nd book now!!!

When Belora successfully shoots a stag, she is annoyed when a dragon flies off with it. She gives chase and demands the return of the kill. The dragon, Kelvan, learns that she can communicate with him and takes her to his knight. So begins this enjoyable and steamy romance, the first of a series. My only complaint is that it feels rushed, that the story could have been developed in greater detail and events could have been spun out over a longer time period allowing the reader to become more immersed in the lives of those who live and work with dragons.
