Curve Appeal: A Contemporary Reverse Harem Romance Novel Kindle Edition

3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 146 ratings

An exciting opportunity could solve all Brianna's problems. But will it ultimately create more?

Brianna Denton is a primary school teacher at the end of her tether. Budget cuts, changes in legislation and a pandemic have left her feeling like walking away from the only career she's ever wanted. The trouble is, if she did quit, what would she do next? Living in London is expensive, and keeping on top of her rent and bills while retraining would be nigh-on impossible. An offer to move in with her best friend, Joel Harris, is appreciated, but feels way too much like charity for her liking.

But then Joel throws her a curveball. On a complete whim, he's bought a fixer-upper cottage on a remote Scottish island. He wants to transform it into an uber-luxury holiday home and rent it out. To do that, however, he needs a skilled, reliable workforce and a project manager to keep things running smoothly. A visit to the island in question provides as many questions as answers, but one thing becomes clear - Brianna is the perfect woman for the job. She's smart, organised, works well under duress, and if she can handle a classroom full of young children, surely a bunch of skilled tradesmen won't be a problem. Working and living in such a stunning setting is a massive plus point, too.

Brianna takes a leap of faith, leaving her home and beloved career behind to help turn Joel's dream into a reality. It's a steep learning curve, but Brianna is definitely up for the challenge. But when working relationships develop into something more, will it bring the entire project crashing down around her ears, or is it simply the beginning of a whole new life?

Curve Appeal is a standalone contemporary reverse harem/why choose romance.

Very cute story. Loved the Scottish accent being written out to better hear it. Wished there was more development in their relationship together.

A great storyline, very well written. Brianna and Joel have been good friends since high school but there is no romance going on. Joel decides to buy a place on a Scottish island and then plans to restore it to become a resort. This is the point when Brianna meets Niall. She eventually leaves her teaching position to be the project manager for Joel. There are a lot of steamy scenes in this book. Highly recommend this book!

I like this book. It's a cute, contemporary, reverse harem romance. There's also a good amount of steamy scenes. There's a lot of British things, so get an English to English dictionary if you're not familiar with words and phrases in the UK. I had to make a pot of tea at one point! This story has a leisurely pace, although there are some exciting, suspenseful scenes.

I especially like how the relationships (most of them) progress naturally and fit in with the plot's overall pacing. Having said that, poor Rory doesn't get any one on one scenes with Brianna.

I love Brianna! She's an adorable - and slightly clueless - main character. I also like the guys, although I wish there had been more character development.

I feel like there are some missing chapters. Almost immediately after the climax, there seems to be a hole. I also felt like this story should be longer. I would have liked to see Niall and Brianna resolve their differences. I wish Rory got his story fleshed out.

Hardly any typos!

Over all the story line has promise but it’s not a RH. It felt unfinished in a lot of aspects and jumped time. Which I wouldn’t have minding but an entire relationship was skipped and you just here about it in the end. It was a slow to get off the group and she spent more time getting to know her best friend then she did to know the 4 guys. Just not what I was expecting.

This isn't your usual RH. More of a slow-build, realistic contemporary book. In fact, it focuses more on the build up with a few spicy scenes here and there. I thought this would have a mild cliffhanger, but it was wrapped up in a neat epilogue. I was it wasn't, was hoping that it would have a book 2 were some of the male MCs would be fleshed out more.

I wanted to like this it had potential but missed the mark. Not really a reverse harem romance novel. Just one on one sex with a few men and not very sexy or interesting and descriptive. Lots of jumping forward in the story and missing much that could have been clever story writing. This does not make me want to try another of this authors books. Sorry, It was for for me or what I expected.

Hot, Hot, Hot, steamy, fun and has something for everyone. Absolutely fabulous storyline, just can't say enough about this book. Brianna and Joel have been good friends since high school but are nothing more than friends. He decides to buy a place on a Scottish island and plans to restore it to become a resort. This is when Brianna meets Niall and then then rest of the crew who will restoring the place. She leaves her teaching position to be the project manager for Joel. Lots of hot scenes in this book. Enjoy this great book. Would recommend this book to all.

Brianna and Joel have been best friends forever. When Joel decides to buy a cottage on a remote island, he takes Brianna with him to check it out. She's had a rough time in her teaching job and needs a break. That's exactly what she gets too. A beautiful remote island trip to help Joel plan his renovations. While there, she has a nice little vacation fling with a local, Niall. After returning home, she tries to carry on with life until Joel decides that she would be the perfect person to head up the project. So off she goes back to the remote island to over see four strapping men. One of whom is Niall, her vacation fling. Things heat up when they are all in close quarters. But can they work together AND have a romantic relationship?

I really enjoyed this book. The easy and relaxed pace was nice to follow. Brianna is a very easy to like character. The guys are all very easy to like as well. The interactions are all very natural. There is no rush to make them be together or anything. Just a natural progression. Only downside was I felt like we didn't get to see the relationship really bloom and grow with Rory. Overall I really enjoyed the book though. Lucy always does a great job and keeping you interested in the story and falling for the characters.

2.0 out of 5 stars DNF - reads like house renovation story instead of romance
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 25, 2023
I never leave reviews on Amazon but… Could not finish this. The “story” that’s described in the blurb starts at 50% point of the text. Yes, the introduction is half of the book. It focuses almost completely on the house renovation aspect and describes absolutely unimportant stuff in minute detail (what exact changes are being done to the house - pages and pages of descriptions, information each time the MFC goes to the toilet, etc) but does not give any insight into the guys, who they are and what they think. Really tedious to read, I only got just past the half of it and that’s because I skipped a lot 🤦‍♀️

A nice cast of characters, an interesting premise, an appealing setting, a story AND steamy scenes! A nice bit of escapist entertainment
