I know I should have more of an open mind, but the whole story felt rushed. There was too much of the plot that was condensed into too few pages.
Her first ever comes leaves after a "one night stand" then comes back and they immediately are in love?! I get they can be hung up on each other or in lust, but after 5 years away they are the only person for each other. That is more obsession than love.
Then add in she has a stalker and he has to protect her.
Had the story just been about them reuniting and going through the ups and downs of knowing each other it would have been good. The added line of her having a stalker and him having to save her from him was too much.

The spicy scenes were also hard for me and I ended up skimming through them. The dirty talk read like virgins trying to be dirty with each other not grown ups talking dirty. Granted you find out the main female character has only ever been with him, it make sense why she can't dirty talk, but you can't tell me that an army man that could have been with many woman doesn't know how to dirty talk.

If it was a novella without the stalker story line I would have given it 3.5 stars.

I absolutely love short and sweet little reads. This one was both with a little bit of mystery and danger thrown in.

Roman and Jessi had a one night stand, which was never supposed to be a one night stand to Roman, years ago. He left quickly and never told Jessi why (but why didn’t anyone else explain it to her?), but now he’s back and ready to make things right. However, Jessi is in a tough spot and needs the help of the police. Enter the new police chief – Roman.He must now keep her safe, solve the mystery, and earn her trust back. It seems like a lot; can he achieve it all in this book?

Roman and Jessi grew up in the same town. He's 2 years older and went into the Army after graduation. She went to college for a business management degree.

Five years ago, when she was a college senior, she and her 2 best  friends came home for the big Halloween party given every year by the Ratcliff family. He was home on leave. She had crushed on him in high school and now it looks like he feels the same way. They spend the night together but when she wakes up the next morning, he's gone without a trace.

Now, it's 5 years later, she and her friends own and operate a successful real estate office. He's home after being bounced out of the Army with a medical discharge.

She has a stalker. He's the new Chief of Police in town. She still feels love towards him but will she ever be able to trust him? Death threats are now being made. Will the stalker be at the party? Will Roman be able to save Jessi?

Love and a mysterious stalker with a twist. Great story!

When you are in love, you are in love. The story starts off with someone taking a woman’s virginity. Years later, they meet each other again. The story continues, but a stalker is involved, and things go a little haywire. An interesting novella. I wanted to know more about his injuries that caused his limp. Maybe it’s explained in the next book in the series.
