A great read
Thoroughly enjoyed this historical book with wonderful characters and segments of history though tough to deal with (slavery) is part of history that we have to face and still affect many of us today in 2023
Bernadette and Flavidus love for each other did span from childhood to adulthood even though they didn’t see each other for over 10 years it was still there
This book was amazing and I am glad I found it and this author
Will definitely be reading more of her catalog

I really enjoyed this book. As a fan of historical romances, it was a delight to read one that has all the elements of a good romance, mixed with strong religious beliefs and American history. Reading the mysterious past of Big Tom and experiencing both his and Cissy's growth was powerful. I cheered at the train scene and, of course, teared up at bith her visit with the Dever Friends society and the rallying point in the satisfying climactic ending!
I would rate this a clean novel if that wasn't already noted, but I do not think it lacked as a romance story because of that fact. I would definitely read again and hope to visit these characters in another story.

I liked how the race and religion mixed in this mail order bride book. A slightly different twist on this kind of story.

Bernadette and Flavius both change their name. They were known as Big Tom and Cissy. Now, they have new lives. New names. Both characters have found one another. This is a second chance at romance. Second chance to be true friend and lovers. But will the past fear hold them back. Chance at marriage 💑.

Good story but hard to follow. There are a number of complexities. But once I start a book, its hard for me to bail.

Refreshing, hopeful, surprisingly, well-written. Great diverse storyline that touches the heart of readers. Characters are well-developed, yet relatable. Highly recommend this book of how LOVE can cover a multitude of sin, trauma and hurt inflicted by others. I'm now a FAN of this Author ....10STAR rated book

This is an absolutely amazing western historical! The plot deals with race and religion issues from the perspective of the old west after the Civil War and does it well. The characters, old and new, also grow and prosper. Make this a MUST READ NOW!

This is Book 11 in a series, but doesn’t need to be read in order to understand what is going on.

It was really interesting to see how they did match making in 1700.

Super enjoyed it.
