4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 1,563 ratings

He wants to claim me. Crown me. Keep me.

LOTHAN

I never thought I’d find my Alara. So when I scent her, I steal her.

She is made to be mine. Perfect in every way—except one.

Every chance she gets, she runs back to her captors.

Why does she run from me?

Whatever she desires, I will give her. Whatever she needs, I’ll provide. I’ll do anything for my little queen—anything except let her go.

ADA

The alien warrior who stole me from the auction block is no simple thief.

He’s a king. And he swears that I’m his fated mate. He wants me beside him on the throne — and underneath him in his bed.

But all I want is to find my little sister. She’s still out there somewhere, at the mercy of our abductors.

So the king and I strike a bargain. If he rescues her, I’ll be his queen.

And if he doesn’t keep his end of the deal? I’ll sacrifice anything to keep her safe. Even the king who’s stolen my heart.

A must read m/f alien romance in my book!I had the immense pleasure of reading an ARC for this one and LOVED it! I also forgot it was an arc and immediately went looking for book 2 😆 As a serial series starter and never finisher that must mean it’s pretty darn good. Can’t wait for the next in the series!

I'm floored by how much I loved this book and just know this series is going to become one of my absolute favorites!
I was hooked from the very beginning because of how fast paced the story progressed. It seemed like your average scifi romance with insta love dated mates trope (which I'm a sucker for) but soon turned to one full of intriguing characters, political and family rivalries, world building, and so much more! I literally couldn't put this book down and am about to begin the next one because I'm dying to see what comes next in this world. If you're looking for a fun and exciting love story this is your book.

Enjoyed getting to know Ada, her character was very fully developed. The rest were developed but not quite as thoroughly. Regardless, it kept my attention, a good read for the SciFi romance readers. On to the next book in this series!

Good storyline and plots. Loved some characters, and loved to hate others lol. Strong heroes, and heroines as well. Excitement and drama for them all. Can't wait to read the next in the series. Recommend this set!!Nj

I DNF’ed at 62% - this was a “It’s me, not the book” issue. I can’t stand FMC’s that do the whole “before I could think, I dove headfirst into mortal danger” shtick. I just… nothing makes me ick harder.

The plot of this book is GOOD!!! I almost didn’t care about the romance part because ‘the assassin space station priests attempting to rule the five planets’ was just enthralling. Plus, the deceased king’s brother being chased off?? The plot was intriguing, intense - and, for me personally, returning to a profoundly (ahem, toxically) co-dependent FMC’s POV was almost disappointing. As is typical of a lot of sci-fi romance, she is stubbornly insisting that she wants to go back to Earth the whole time - for what?? Why??? What does Earth have that this alien planet you could be the QUEEN of doesn’t have??!!

Furthermore, even after being informed that everything he thinks he knew is false?? The king continues to loathe a different alien race that, in all reality, were pretty much destroyed in the name of a lie. Sure, they’re bad now - but who is to blame for that??

Sigh. Only other (small) complaint is the litany of made-up sci-fi names were hard to keep track of. The fine balance between feeling alien enough but also being easily digestible as a written work - perhaps a little too alien.

I LOVED and ADORED the colour changing alien people. Their culture is rich, deep, and quite different than human - but perhaps, that plays into… I really can’t see how the FMC will fit in? I know I’m DNFing - but again, I can’t stand characters that must depart from any lick of sense in the name of being kidnapped for the plot to intensify. The plot is intense enough!!!

I’m gonna stop whining. This one wasn’t for me, but the author has a heap of promise.
3.5 stars. 2 peppers.

4/5 Plot
1/5 Romance (fated mates still need to like, actually pair well together and communicate)
4/5 Humour (inner dialogue started off hilarious)
3/5 Spice

I’m not sure of the type of style but this seems to be one I prefer in these books. It’s descriptive and scene setting enough, but has a good pace, without lingering too long in one place. Gotta love happy endings too…this story line had some super sweet stuff too.

I liked the characters and their engagement with each other. Spice was 🌶️🌶️ not overly descriptive but did well with the writing. Allows for more story lines to continue with the series but can be read as stand alone.

There are quite a few plot points awaiting explanation, but this was a surprisingly feel-good, epic love story in space. I can’t wait to get my hands on book 2 - I’m rather fond of stubborn guys getting their worlds rocked by equally stubborn love interests. Let the good times roll!

Sweet and spicy. Love a good alien love story lol. Author is great at world building and very descriptive. I was able to easily imagine what the different aliens looked like. Looking forward to the next book.

Wow. I sucked this one in and devoured it in 24hrs.
Loved the story, the characters, the chemistry and the writing.
There’s also a bonus scene available which I gobbled up as well.
