It’s not easy being someone you’re not.
Grayson Darling is suddenly the new Hollywood “it” guy and needs a break from stardom. As an American actor turned heartthrob, Gray rose to superstar status as a romantic lead on a popular streaming service – but it’s getting harder to hide who he really is.
To his legions of female fans, he’s a handsome, single and straight man.
But it’s all a made-for-TV lie.
Needing a holiday during the show’s summer hiatus, Gray books a stay at a rural Ireland B&B, where he hopes the scenery and solitude will spark creativity to finish his first screenplay. And allow him time to figure out who and what he wants to be to the world.
Gruff and steady Niall O’Reardon wonders if this is all life has to offer him now that he’s retired from the Gaelic football league and has taken over his family farm in Boyle, Ireland, where hard work is simply a fact of life. A place where dreams get shoveled up along with the sheep muck. He has no illusions that he’ll find the perfect love or start a family someday.
Until his new handsome American B&B guest shows up, messing with his ideas on what love is supposed to be, giving him hope that he can have it all and that perfect isn’t just a fantasy.
But choices must be made, and the truth has consequences. And hearts and reputations are on the line and need to be protected.

Geoffrey Lancer aka Grayson Darling the darling for many a female because of his TV series playing WWII Army Captain Jonathan Levy is tired of being someone he’s not. His plan is to get away to a secluded location to write his own screenplay so that he can finally come out of the closet. What he doesn’t expect is Niall O’Reardon, big and strong former Gaelic football League player, now sheep farmer in Boyle, Ireland who is out and proud. Niall’s muscles come from hard work for his farm and B&B. Can Gray and Niall deny their attraction?
Loved their entertaining meet-cute. Their flirtatious teasing brings with it lots of fun internal dialogue. Oh. My. Word. Chapters 13 and finally, chapter 16. So HOT. The secondary characters are wonderful too. Nan in the barn when she first meets Grayson. That scene is so funny. Seamus, Nan and Niall’s father is a delight. Great ending too but not without pain. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Gay Romance Reviews. If you enjoy M/M romance which is funny, sweet and steamy, read this one. You won’t be disappointed.
He certainly did not expect the proprietor of the bed and breakfast to be a handsome sheep farmer whose twinkling eyes captured his attention the minute he arrived at the farm. Grayson definitely didn’t need a distraction during his stay but Niall was an interesting fellow, different from anyone he had ever met, and someone he wanted to know more about. Grayson felt safe at the isolated farm and he befriended the surly Niall who begrudgingly agreed to be his tour guide while he was visiting. Sparks flew whenever they were together and neither man knew what to do about their attraction.
Regardless of how they felt about each other, Grayson always kept his personal life private and Niall craved his peaceful life on the farm. What happens when the real world descends upon the farm, causing Grayson and Niall to make decisions they weren’t prepared to make? Will the luck of the Irish be on their side and bring them the happiness they both deserved?
Grayson is an extreme closeted gay American actor playing the leading man in a British Television show. His show is going on break between seasons so he decides to take some time to write his screenplay that he has been working on. His assistant books him a room in a bed and breakfast in Ireland. It is there he encounters a big burly sheep farmer that he cant take his eyes off. Grayson is instantly smitten, Niall is just his type.
Niall and Grayson become involved and find they are soulmates. Niall is dealing with his sister leaving on vacation the day before Grayson is due to arrive as well as a sick father he has no idea just how sick however. Grayson is traveling under his real name, Geoffrey Lancer.
All in all a very good book and if you enjoy sweet, steamy MM romance you will enjoy this one.

it's a celebrity mm romance - one of the guys (grayson) is an actor and the other (niall) is a farmer.
grayson needs a break from his busy world to focus on writing his screenplay and ends up in a local b&b in ireland, which happens to be run by niall and his sister. the two end up spending a lot of time together, while niall's sister is away, and grow close. there is an element of instant lust/love but they do actually get to know each other a bit first before anything happens. their relationship is quite nice but ends abruptly when grayson has to leave for his job. on the same day, niall's dad passes away so it's a lot for him to deal and process with at once. niall has been scorned in the past but doesn't want to let this relationship go so he tracks grayson down again and they get back together, meaning that it ends on a happy note.
i currently have no plans to continue with this series but this might change in the future.
3.5 stars.
I thought when I read the blurb that the story had real potential - hollywood actor needs a break and meets grumpy hot irish farmer. Sadly I was left feeling a little disappointed by the whole thing. I liked it fine, but it's not one that left me with a lasting impression and not one I think I'd ever want to go back and revisit.
I think maybe the characters didn't really click for me, I liked them but I wasn't ever rooting for them, and found that I wasn't all that invested in them. I did like the banter between Gray and Niall at the start, that was really good but then that all went away when they got together. It was all pretty sudden, from 0-soulmates and HEA. The ending almost took me by surprise, it was all so sudden and just ... ended. I couldn't believe I was so near the end because I was sure there was more story to come. But it just ... stopped. I did get the version with the epilogue but that didn't really go that far to assuage my disappointment with the ending.
So it was OK, not great.
