I absolutely loved Touchback! As a huge fan of romance and football, this was the perfect combination. Johannah and Jett jump off the pages, packing huge punches of personality and character. I found them both to be very relatable. Even the side characters are vivid and captivating! This book literally had all the feels! It made me think, laugh, cry and so much more. This was my first book by Dawna Raver but will definitely not be my last!

I was given this book for free and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review. This book was very well written and I was hooked from the start. The author used some words I was unfamiliar with and I had to look up - I love when that happens. I like to expand my vocabulary. I loved Johannah’s character. She was super sweet, with a hint of badass and I particularly loved her relationship with her father (there was a scene where they were playing catch and I melted). Jett was adorable and sweet as well and I enjoyed the chemistry all around (Jett and Johannah, Jett and Thatcher, Thatcher and Johannah). I loved the family dynamic they all had. This was sweet romance with a hard headed daughter who cared more about everyone around her than herself; yet she didn’t realize how much she hurt everyone with her decision making. I loved Jett and Johannah and I would have loved to see an epilogue with them as parents and their legacy as a football family :) I did get a little bored in the middle but overall a really good read. I am going to assume Chloe will have a story, because that was a sketchy storyline and ending. I will most likely read what’s next (if there is one) as I am now a fan of this author.

This is the 1st in a new series and the 1st time I have read any of this authors work, and I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. Johannah idolises her dad and is determined that he is going to end his football career at the top of his game. Jett’s football career is in jeopardy after a drunken mistake and he is benched because of it, so when he is offered the chance to back up veteran QB Thatcher Scott he jumps at it. From the moment Jett and Johannah meet the sparks fly, but she has had a tough time as well as suffering from an illness which her mom had. These two start a secret affair, but how long can they hide their true feelings? This is a well written emotional roller coaster which has engaging and realistic characters, amazing secondary characters, and has witty banter, which all leads to a humorous, entertaining, and steamy all-consuming tale. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy but my opinion is my own. This was my first time reading a book by Dana Raver and I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters were well developed. I love the comedic relief thrown in with the heavy topics.

I am still curious about Thatcher's past, but maybe that will get revealed in Chloe's book if that is the plan. I will admit sometimes I struggled with the writing, it wasn't the plot or the characters. Sometimes the sentences seemed somewhat choppy or didn't always flow together. I almost gave up and stopped reading but I wanted to know what happened.

Soon after, I became engrossed in the storyline that I didn't want to stop reading. I don't know if that issue resolved itself or I was fully invested at that time, regardless, I am glad I finished this one. At times, it was an emotional roller-coaster with the needed relief. I was so drawn in, I found myself wiping my own tears from my face. The depth of love these characters experienced for one another was overwhelming. When Thatcher felt detrayed, I felt it.

If you like sports romance with drama and angst, you have to give this one a try. I would give Touchback 4.5 stars if I could.

Jeff made a bad decision and it really negatively affected his career. Now he has another chance and he cannot afford to mess things up again. But when he meets the quarterback's daughter who is most definitely off limits it won't be easy for him to to keep to his word. She is gorgeous and he is so drawn to her that he is not sure he can resist regardless of the consequences he might face. Johannah is such a lovely girl, she is will do anything to make sure her father's career ends on a high note, even if that means hiding her health issues from him. She is as attracted to Jeff as he is to her but the complications of who her father is means that if they do decide to be together it is not going to be an easy road for either of them. The characters are really well-crafted and the story kept me entertained and melted my heart.

So I like the story BUT it was so annoying that Johanna wouldn't get the procedure she needed that would save her life. Every single person who knew kept telling her she needed to think about her health over her father's career. She always picked waiting until after the football season was over to get said procedure. Other than that I liked the story. Jett and Johanna fell in insta last but they had a connection. And everyone told them to stay away from each other and of course they didn't listen. They fell in love. Maybe the story wasn't too descriptive but they just mostly had sex and a few interactions for them to fall in love. Idk. Everyone kept some kind of secret. And their goal to get a ring for Thatcher was almost sidelined. So many football references. I'm not sure if this was book one in a series but I'm interested in learning about Zolt and Irelyn's story. Not so much Thatch and Chloe. She had her own secrets but had the nerve to get upset when her friend had her own secrets. Don't really care for her or the fact that she was almost in a relationship with her best friends dad. Kinda gross.

Get the Kleenex! So many tears in this one. My heart broke on more than one occasion reading this one. Jett and Johannah were meant to be but so many people tried to keep them apart. They knew from the beginning they were going to crack and be together, even though they had to hide it from so many people. There was so much love and sadness throughout the whole story with so many people.
