I was born and raised in a small historical town in northern Ohio. After having lived in various parts of the United States and for a short time in Germany, my husband and I have found our forever home in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina.

When I'm not writing, thinking about writing, or plotting my next novel, I'm busy preparing a telephone Bible Study that’s I've been doing for years.

A long-time lover of romance novels, I would like nothing more than to sit on a deserted beach somewhere sipping iced tea and reading to my heart’s content. My husband and I travel to visit family and friends in my hometown where I browse and delight in my favorite library.

The children of both families are best friends, and Steve's twin sister, Mia, happens to be Cassie's friend, so they find themselves together at many school and gymnastic events. Troubled first marriages lead to trust issues on both sides. Late in the book, Mia disappears and Steve blames Cassie. This story is about forgiveness and redemption. I highly recommend it.

Like two magnets Cassie and Steve are both attracted and repelled by the other, but their daughters become friends, making it impossible for them to avoid one another.
Cassie’s Secret is a heartwarming story of growth, sweet romance, and the power of Christ to heal and overcome wounds. I enjoyed it very much and thoroughly recommend this book. The plot moved well, the main characters were well-developed, and the children vulnerable and sweet.

Cassie’s Secrets is the first novel from Seralynn Lewis. The story tells the tale of Cassie & her two girls starting over in small town Ohio. In large part to be close to her brother’s family & further from her ex, who is not such a good guy. Enter Steve, a widow also raising two young girls. They meet & despise one another, yet their girls become fast friends so they have to deal with each other… Both characters act horribly to one another over the course of the book, so much so you really don’t like them at some points. They both had horrible first marriages, both harboring secrets that they don’t want to tell. The b storylines were intriguing as well, the biggest one dealing with Steve’s sister Mia suddenly disappearing. I’m thinking Mia will potentially get a book of her own in the future?! I found it to be equally funny & frustrating at times but a fast paced read. Cassie drooling over Steve’s muscles had me laughing out loud, but the hem, haw, & angst of the main characters was off putting. That said I can totally see this being a Hallmark movie. So if you are a fan of Hallmark movies or Christian Fiction you would enjoy this book. Religion, praying, & forgiveness all have large arcs in the book. P/S There's nothing wrong with spicy romance novels, there's a time & place for everything. The book pokes slight fun at the genre as this series is intended to be for readers who prefer milder romance.

What makes this love story so compelling is that Cassie and Steve are each still tangled in a complicated net of memory, trauma, guilt, hope, obligation, and determination that has left both of them defensive, mistrustful, and secretive. And their secrets are dramatic enough, and the push and pull they feel powerful enough, to make this a page-turner.

One of the most interesting aspects of the story is how much of the drama springs from the adventures of a supporting character who will star in the next book of the series.
