Riddles of the Heart: August Moon Romance Kindle Edition

3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 67 ratings

Nine riddles. Two teens. One night of magic.

Mei and Kane have known each other since the start of school, but efforts to get to know each other haven’t gone well for either. Kane didn’t plan on causing a fire in the science lab, and Mei didn’t expect to knock over the new library display.

When both end up at the same stall at the August Moon Festival, the mutual attraction isn’t missed by a certain old lady. She gifts them a bottle of elixir, and thinking it’s just lemonade, both Mei and Kane drink it.

Transported and trapped in an empty Adelaide, the two teens have just hours to solve a series of riddles. They will need to work together because if they fail, the portal to home will be closed for a year.
or will love conquer all?

On a night when traditions are celebrated, can a little magic help love to blossom or will a fateful tale repeat itself?

Author note: A romance perfect for young adult reader, or the young at heart. This book contains no strong language and only sweet kisses.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"I definitely learned a lot about this cultural tradition within this short tale, and I loved how Eastern and Western cultures mixed together. There is definitely a manga/manhua feel to the story, as also suggested by the gorgeous cover art, and the characters are easy to adore." - Amy P for Readers' Favourite

Jenni lives in a strange part of Australia where four seasons regularly occur within a day. She has two wonderful children and two cats who enjoy tearing through the house at 2am to keep her company.

Jenni writes young adult novels because she enjoys revisiting the age of discovery and adventure. She's not huge on writing romantic elements but every now and then a little sneaks into a story. Her goal with writing is to create worlds and characters that others will love as much as she did when writing.

On her bookshelf you will find mainly young adult books from contemporary to fantasy, but spends a lot of time reading younger books with her unicorn-pegasus-pony-obsessed daughter and sharks-and-wolves obsessed son.

This was a quick read about two teens who end up having to solve riddles after being transported to an alternate world in order to teach them about communication and getting out of their own head. I really enjoyed it overall, it's a good read if you need something that's just cute and wholesome

I really liked this story. It was a gentle read and only gave it 4 stars because it has some spelling errors.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get 5 pages in and had to stop. I highlighted three grammar mistakes and it just pulled me right out. I’m sorry. Hopefully the next read is better.

This book is a very easy read, a very cute story. It’s short which I love and doesn’t over explain things.
