More Than This (The O'Leary Family Book 1) Kindle Edition

She had a plan. He was not part of it...

Quinn Adams is on a mission. After what she went through with her ex, she deserves some fun.
Sexy fun. So, with a bucket list of commitment-free adventures in hand, she set out to mix things up. Her plan didn't account for everything going horribly wrong. It also didn't include an entirely too charming bartender offering his services. But here they are...

Ryan O'Leary is a giver. Everyone in his huge family knows it. So naturally, he offered to help Quinn with her list. Whether she needed a summer romance, a wingman, or a friend with benefits, he was her guy. Conquering the list would be easy. Convincing her to let him into her life—and her heart—on a permanent basis, though...well, that's another story
entirely...

Can Ryan convince Quinn to think of him as more than a fling and take a shot at happily ever?

More Than This, book 1 in The O’Leary Family series, is a contemporary steamy, friends-to-lovers summer romance full of big, Irish families, even bigger emotions, and a guaranteed happily ever after. Download today and welcome to the Chicago Irish neighborhood!

More Than This by Shannyn Schroeder is the first book of the O'Leary's series. When she learns that her ex-husband is going to be a father, Quinn Adams is on a mission. With the help of her sister and their friend, Quinn is given a list of challenges to complete that summer, challenges designed to be life changing and get Quinn out of her comfort zone. Ryan O’Leary is the sexy bartender at their favorite hang out and he decides he is the perfect person to help Quinn with her list. As he helps her set up and complete the challenges, their friendship grows. Soon Ryan realizes that he wants more from Quinn. Can he convince her that he is the man for all her adventures?
Wow! More Than This is a sweet and steamy romance, packed with humor and tough life lessons. Quinn is a high school teacher who plays it safe. Ryan is the sexy bartender who is willing to show her the fun in taking risks. I immediately loved Ryan and saw how perfect he was for Quinn. It takes her a bit of convincing but once she lets her guard down, the fireworks erupt! The challenges were fun and I loved seeing Quinn break from her shell and become more confident. I loved all the characters, especially the large and rambunctious O’Leary family. I loved this story and look forward to reading the rest of the series. If you enjoy sweet and steamy romance, I highly recommend More Than This.

I liked the characters. I enjoyed the story. I chose 4 stars because the character development was rich enough for me to want to read the next in the series. However, I did stop twice to see how far along in the book I had gotten. I don't typically do that. There were just some moments that seemed to detract from the story.

On those, 'where is this going?' moments, I felt as though the story either had segments that had been edited out--leaving some confusion in the wake--or they were set ups for future couples to solve.

I enjoyed Shannyn Schroeder's writing style, the descriptions, and the angst brewing between two characters with plenty of baggage. From Ryan's family and their real-life woes to Quinn's lost path on life, it was fun to find two flawed individuals working through the pages together.

Quinn considers herself weak because she doesn't enjoy boldly being the center of attention and has given up on finding happiness as she previously scripted. Meanwhile Ryan is lured in by her polite qualities and tries to insert himself in her closed group of friends. It's a fun story, particularly when the friends and family pick up on their relationship faster than they do.

I will look forward to more books by this author.

Imagine for a second if Friends Ross & Rachel weren't a TV show but an actual book. From all the "We were on a break!'s to the "I got off the plane!"'s and you'd come pretty close to this first installment of the O'learys series.

Ryan and Quinn had a really epic romance that was engaging and fun, sexy and sweet and a little maddening all rolled into one book. Their chemistry was off the charts as they tried to convince themselves they were just friends. The author had my heart wanting to burst out of my chest with Quinn's "wingman" nonsense and the fact that she almost pushed Ryan away nearly killed me!

Ryan was a fabulous hero! He was fun, kind and super understanding and sweet about all Quinn's neurotic list adventures. I love that she was determined to step out of her comfort zone but some of her antics were ridiculous. I'm just glad the author chose not to take the characters to the OW/OM arena like some tend to do. Despite Quinn trying to find a "summer romance" because it was listed, she and Ryan couldn't keep their hands off each other and the love that developed was wonderful!

The secondary characters have me wanting to explore their stories and seeing as how this author is new to me, I hope they don't disappoint. Because this was a first in a series the subsequent books tend to disappoint but it's hard to follow such a great couple. This book kept me up all night and almost had me calling in sick to work just to finish it! I hate when you're just a few minutes from being done and something interrupts. You definitely don't want to miss the sexy goodness of Ryan and Quinn's romance!

I really enjoyed this book. Characters were relatable and easy to love. Well, written throughout. Quinn frustrated me at times, but when I read I often have to remind myself that not everyone makes the same decisions I would. LOL! That's why I read -- to suspend my reality for a bit and just enjoy a great story. Definitely going to read the next book in this series.

This was a good read. I think it was a little to drawn out and should have been a shorter read.

I really liked this story. It sucked me in right from the start and wouldn't let go. I thought Ryan was fun, sweet and so understanding, especially when it came to Quinn and her controlling personality. Quinn on the other hand couldn't seem to see what a gem she had right in front of her. Sure, their chemistry was off the charts from the minute they first laid eyes on one another, but Quinn was to fixated on her goals to see it for what iit was. I was a little disappointed by the abrupt ending. It was like the author said her word count was up and ended it right then and there. I know this is part of an ongoing series, but it would have been nice to have at least a short epilogue in order to tie up a few loose ends like: Did they ever catch the guys doing the rapes? Did Ryan and Quinn ever really take the vacation they were planning? And if they did, did they have a great time in New Orleans? This is the main reason for my 4 star rating, rather than giving it a 5.

Just loved the start of the O’Leary family saga with Ryan and Quinn but sometimes I could have shaken Quinn but I suppose she was on her own mission. Can’t wait to read the next story in the series.

I happen to stumble across this author when I was getting back into reading, and specifically reading romance books. I like the fact that the two characters are skirting the attraction that they have for one another, and that he decides to play her "wing man", so that she can venture back into the dating world. i would highly recommend this book and the others in this series.

A long drawn out story. Ryan is a great guy. I felt Quinn was unfair on him. She was so set on her own plan she didn't see what was in front of her.
