This is a stand alone story with crossover characters. You will not be lost and the friendships that have developed in previous stories is felt. Be warned, you will fall in love with the secondary characters and will want to read their stories.

I felt a connection to this couple from the start and understood where each was coming from and why they acted as they did. Each have baggage that slowly is opened up by them being honest with each other. The feeling of family with the friends coming together is strongly felt.

Story has mystery, violence, villains, surprise twists, suspense, romance, fast paced and lovemaking. Then add amazing main and secondary characters what isn't to love?

Love of country comes through strongly in wanting to defend it. I'm a female Navy Veteran and this story hit everything I wanted in this genre.

Lovemaking, outside of marriage, heat level 4.5 out of 5.

No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romantic, crude words used often, and steam. I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you some tidbits to decide whether to purchase. (ljb)

As an Hidden Gems ARC reader I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily promised an honest review. Here it is.

Rating: 4 (of 5 stars).

In general: From Opponents to Lovers.

Main characters:
- Reeves Hewitt.
He’s a game developer and works for Jenkins Security, the company of his friends, Finn (ex SEAL) and Lars Jenkins (a Recon Marine).

- Darcy Wilson.
CIA cybercrime analyst. The CIA suspects Reeves and a friend of him hacking into various US embassies. The hackers demanded a lot of money not to release secret embassy files. But Reeves has a high security level in the CIA files and Darcy’s boss orders her to fly to Seattle and make peace with Reeve Hewitt and ask his help to investigate who is behind the attacks on the US embassies.

Then the author, Jacki Delecki, describes in a suspenseful plot how the two main characters investigate the cyber attack. At first with a lot of mistrust from both sides, but more and more they realize that they can trust each other’s patriotic attitude and during a crisis both even accept that they developed feelings of love which are deeper than only a strong physical attraction. Moreover they learn to compromise about Darcy’s ambition to achieve a great CIA career while having a permanent relationship with a gorgeous IT nerd outside this famous intelligence agency. It results in an interesting mix of a lot of exciting action scenes, interesting information about CIA, FBI and private security companies, the introduction of some sympathetic additional characters and some hot love scenes. For me a pleasure to read.

Reeves finally gets his story.
Reeves is a computer nerd that has been in all the other books. Since his friends' women have been kidnapped, he's been training to be able to better protect those he cares about. While he's playing a game he and 2 of his friends invented, he wants to know about his teammate in the game XChoco. She's an awesome player.
Darcy, XChoco, is a CIA operative and Army veteran, who doesn't take orders very well. She ends up in her boss's office after an attempt to track Reeves, thinking he is a criminal.
Darcy's boss makes her go to Reeves to apologize, and ask him for help in tracking the originator of the ransomware attack.
Darcy and Reeves team up and work together on this plan to stop the attack.
Loads of action, suspense, and fate intervenes.
I loved this story so much I bought the book. This is my opinion and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Another mission accomplished. This was especially sweet with the geeky Reeves and the tough CIA agent Darcy. They go at each other full pedal to the metal from the very beginning. It is fun to watch as he teases her and gets on her nerves as the are forced to work together. The sparks are flying and they just keep hitting roadblocks. It’s another marvelous addition to the series that is never boring and whose characters never fails to leave you entertained.

This was the 7th book in a series, but easily read as a stand alone. I did not read the other books, but it was easy to pick up on the relationships between the long standing characters. With that being said, I wasn’t a huge fan. It felt like there was a lot of extraneous details, the characters weren’t developed enough for me, and the main romantic relationship felt flat. The storyline was fine, and the book wasn’t bad, but there are a lot of extremely similar books that I have enjoyed more.

Darcy is trying to prove her self to the CIA that she deserves this chance. So when the cyber ware came out and was threatening the u.s. she was determind to find who was behind it. At first she was going after reeves the billionare and partner of this game. But she soon realizes that she likes him so hating him was the plan lol. While trying to work together they go through the loops and discover new things on this case, hopefully it's not all bad
