London Time (Lost in Time Book 1) Kindle Edition

Can a cynical fashion editor in modern-day Manhattan find true love in Victorian-era London?

Emily Christie, a British ex-pat fashion editor in NYC, yearns for the kind of love depicted in literature and art. When Emily and her two “besties”, Jenee and Gabriella, attend an exhibition of Renaissance artist Marco Allegretto at the Met, Emily can’t help but be drawn into the ethereal beauty of his trio of paintings,
The Three Stages of Love. Each painting features Allegretto with his muse and lover, a beautiful and mysterious woman with long red hair. Although her identity was lost to the winds of time, she was the inspiration for the heroine in The Time Traveler’s Lover.

The bestselling novel devoured by Emily and her friends in their book club tells the heartrending story of Iris Bellerose, a young woman in World War II Paris who is flung back in time to Renaissance Florence where she meets and falls in love with Allegretto.

If only the novel were true!

When Allegretto suddenly comes to life in the first painting and takes Emily’s hand, she’s stunned right down to her Manolos. But Emily is shocked beyond imagination when Allegretto flings her back in time to Victorian-era London, where she quite literally lands at the feet of Colin Remington, the heir to the Marquess of Danbury.

Colin is investigating a series of grisly murders of young women, one of whom was his fiancée, Daphne Carmichael. Emily, who bears a striking resemblance to Daphne, is shaken by this strange coincidence. Desperate to unravel her predicament and desperate to stop the murders, she and Colin join forces.

But how will Emily manage her growing feelings for the impossibly attractive Lord Remington, and how in blazes will she ever get home?

Editorial Reviews

Review

5-Star Review and a Crowned Heart was given by reviewer Simone Dober in InD'Tale Magazine

Emily Christie and her love of Pavarotti frames the girls' weekend with a visit to the Met to enjoy the art exhibit featuring the mysterious time travel love story and paintings by Marco Allegretto. The mystery involves time travel, eternal love, and three related images of the stages of love. At the exhibition, Emily finds herself unexpectedly transported to her homeland of London in the 19th century. Resilient, Emily must adapt quickly and find acceptance until she can discover a way home. Colin Remington, a titled member of society during the Victorian era in England, investigates a series of unsolved women's murders when he crosses paths with Emily. She lands a job as a journalist and crafts stories to help women gain a stronger voice in society. Emily finds the charming Lord Remington nearly irresistible. Colin suspects Emily even as he seeks her help with his investigation. Belle Ami sets the stage for readers to plunge into Victorian society with realistic details of the era and an eye for important works of art history. Along the journey with Emily and Colin to find the killer, they discover the passionate breathlessness of romance as it threatens to overcome reason. Emily misses her friends and the amenities of modern times, but is that enough reason to ignore her heart? It's impossible not to get caught up in Emily's plight in this exciting, suspenseful love story. The ending is satisfying, with a surprising turn of events. Waiting for the next book in this three-part series is like fantasizing about an undeniably agonizing pleasure to repeat as often as possible!

Be sure to pick up a copy of my brand new historical fiction novel MONA LISA'S DAUGHTER, I believe this is my best book to date. A truly unique look at the maestro Leonardo da Vinci!

Historical Romance is a genre I've just begun to write, and I love it! My publisher, Dragonblade, is the cat's meow when it comes to historical romance. There is no publisher better or more supportive. My release of LUCK OF THE LYON (Lyon's Den Series) is quite a romp filled with challenges for my star-crossed lovers. I'm stoked to hear from my readers what they think of this new addition to my oeuvre. Be sure to drop me a note and let me know how you enjoy this book, because there are more historical romances coming!

As with her other books Belle Ami kept my attention from the first page. This book is interesting, packed with detailed descriptions of art that almost makes you believe it's real and that Marco Allegretto really existed. Interesting premise just as the Out of time series- well written, well edited, full with adventure and well thought out storyline. I highly recommend anything from her, it's worth it.

I have found this story interesting. It is sad in ways and it is the type of book that needs time to read. I am almost 85 and I have to put the book down a lot. I am glad that Colin and Emily found each other.

I have read all of Belle's books and some many times over. This is another that did not disappoint. I love the blend of romantic history with the past and present woven together. Belle Ami definitely has her own unique style. Treat yourself and get this book along with her many others.

I normally dislike period romances. But I loved this one. Maybe it was the time travel element. Or maybe just Belle Ami's writing style. She describes things in such a way that you think you're there. While spe people may c0onsider the situation contrived (she just happens to resemble the deceased daughter of the couple who's carriage early runs her down), but there is a reas9on for her meeting the people she meets and it has to do with the mission she has been sent back on time to complete. It's a great read. This is my first Belle Ami bool, but I intend to read more.

Emily Christie is a journalist who moved from the UK to New York for a marvelous job. Her, and two of her on-line friends are really interested in a book that tells the story of a time traveler and the three paintings it references. A trip to the art gallery changes Emily's life forever.
Colin Remington is investigating a series of murders in Victorian London. An unusual woman who appears out of nowhere must be viewed with suspicion.
This is a complicated time-travel romance that starts slowly but gets a lot more exciting later in the book. The historic characters are lots of fun and draw us in to the tragic tale. The truely evil villain is much more than he first appears to be. I very much look forward to reading the other two books that must come in the series.
Good fun.

Belle Ami’s time travel historical romance London Time (Book 1 in the Lost in Time Series) introduces us to Emily Christie, a modern-day English rose ex-pat, living it up as a fashion editor in The Big Apple. When her two single best friends come to stay at her apartment for the weekend, the three attend an art gallery opening at the Met. Touring through the exhibit, Emily Christie finds herself hurled back home to London but in the wrong time period. She ends up in the 19th century where she meets Colin Remington, an aristocrat with a nose for solving murders. Not knowing how long she will be displaced from her modern-day life, Emily takes on a position as a journalist, helping women find a stronger foothold in Victorian society. While assisting Colin in his hunt to find a serial killer reminiscent of Jack the Ripper, Emily finds herself falling for the handsome yet stoic Lord Remington.

Without giving too much away, I can say that this is one of my favorite Belle Ami novels, since her amazing Out of Time Series. Eloquently written with just the right amount of historical detail, fantastic events and heated romance, London Time is the perfect book to escape and whisk the reader away from the trials of everyday life to the fantastically alluring past. This author’s knowledge of art and history create a realistic account of what might occur in a real time-travel situation. Highly entertaining and a real page turner, don’t miss London Time. I’m looking forward to the next in this engaging series.

I really enjoy time travel stories, and Belle Ami has really given us a unique twist with this story.
Emily Christie was in present day NYC enjoying a trip to an art gallery with two of her friends, when she suddenly finds herself in Victorian England. Her world is turned upside down and sideways, and Emily has no idea how to get home or how to explain her situation! Fortunately Sir Arthur and Lady Helena find her and take her into their home.
This is the first book by Belle Ami I have read, and it definitely won't be my last. A wonderful group of charaters, suspense, an evil villian, and so much more.

Significant amount of sexual assault. There should have been a warning.

The story wasn’t bad. But a little sappy in parts.

This was another ‘find’ on ‘Stuff Your Kindle’ day, and one I thoroughly enjoyed. The mystery over who was killing women in Victorian London predominates, but then comes the mystery of Iris and Marco, along with the growing love between Emily and Colin. I didn’t expect Emily to make the choice she did, and I did think Colin would ‘unmask’ her.
