Kryssa James has always had a rich internal life. After she was laid off from her job as an editor during the pandemic, she decided it was time to leave the work world behind and pursue living in her head full time. Kryssa loves to write stories centered on women who get out of their comfort zone in some way. She loves to take her characters on adventures to places they haven’t been before, and stick them in situations where they might learn something new about themselves. She also loves to make sure they eat a lot of pastry and treats while they’re at it.

Kryssa lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and daughter. When she is not writing, she is probably in her garden or in the kitchen trying out a new recipe.

Good story with a sweet ending

I really enjoyed Nate and Rebekah's story, especially how different it was from the first in the series. This book had me interested from the beginning and while I was expecting some conflict (there's always conflict to be resolved in a good romance), the way this story went was not how I expected. Kryssa James has hooked me on this series and I can't wait for book 3!

Rebekah Claremont has grown up in the lap of luxury. She's the 2nd child in the family and has always been the "perfect" daughter. Rules were made to be followed and she followed all of them. She's CEO at Quinn Financial, the 1st company her father founded.

Like her older brother, Rex, on her 30th birthday she's about to learn the conditions she'll need to fulfill to earn her inheritance. Her parents are concerned that she's working too hard and not taking time for a social life or dating. She finally agrees to go on 5 dates with men selected by her parents. Their choices did not settle well with her and she ducked out early on her 2nd and 4th dates. She's refusing to go on the 5th date. How can she date other men when there's this attraction to her driver, Nate, a man her parents definitely never considered for her.

Nate Chambers is like no other man Rebekah has ever met. He breaks rules and has adventures, more importantly he brings laughter into her life.

Nate is hiding secrets about his past and who he was at one time. His mother left when he was a toddler. His father was a mechanic and tried his best to raise Nate. He died when Nate was 10. Nate was in foster care when his father's much younger brother showed up to claim him. By 13, Nate was working in his uncle's car service shop. He's planning on confessing about his past, he just has to find the perfect moment. And, as we all know, perfect moments rarely appear when we want them...

Rebekah's father has done a deeper background check on Nate and has found his secrets. Both the lies Nate told and the lies of omission. However, he doesn't know Nate's background other than his record. Will Nate be able to explain everything to Rebekah? Can she overlook his past or will his confession end their time together?

Her older brother, Rex has given her 2 pieces of advice. First, it's more important for her to find someone who’s right for her than to be the perfect daughter. And secondly maybe she needs some imperfections to balance herself out.

Nate and Rebekah's unexpected love

Nate has finally been given a chance to make his life better only to fall for the bosses daughter. Rebekah loves having Nate as her driver but she also likes that he pays attention and seems to really care about her.

But can their new love/romance survive after his past come full force.? Loved their story.

Nate has just started working for Rebekah's wealthy family. Rebekah's birthday is coming up and with it some conditions from her parents. As Nate drives her places they grow closer. Her parents have set up dates with men they think are appropriate for her. Nate has some things he has kept to himself and her parents have learned some of what he didn't share. Will her parents come between her and what she wants? Can she follow her own path and choose a man she wants?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

LOVE this reverse Cinderella style romance, with rich, kick-ass CEO Rebekah Claremont...and her dark, mysterious, tattooed new driver. It's delicious. Don't expect a cold billionaire story with any bossholes – there's a softness to both of these characters that makes them super endearing, you'll root for them the whole time. Bonding walks together when the car breaks down in the wilderness. Stolen glances over tacos. Will they, won't they. Introducing him to her rich world, and vice versa. Longing.
And of course, him storming in on the date her parents are making her go on with someone else.

Really enjoying this series and can't wait for the next one already!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is a taboo with spice at the end. I absolutely love age gap romances there is something about it that just makes me swoon. I did enjoy this fast paced, forbidden, age gap romance, a wonderful story with awesome characters. It sweeps you along and before you know it is over and leaves you wanting more.

I like how the woman has the money and the man has nothing. Nate is Rebekah’s family driver. Rebekah’s parents have this weird notion they have to make demands on their children’s 30th birthday to get the inheritance. In the middle of the “inheritance game” Rebekah gets to know Nate but there are secrets and this could tear them apart.
