Escape to Eden: A Dystopian Novel (Original Series Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 908 ratings

"One of the best Dystopian novels I've ever read!" - Amazon Top 500 Reviewer ★★★★★

"There's got to be more to life than just surviving."

In the future, mankind has learned to manipulate their DNA, harnessing only the good genes, like intelligence, strength and height. They called this prime DNA and humans rushed to get these new pDNA injections, which gave them superhuman-like qualities. Centuries later, however, their DNA became so engineered that humans rarely live past the age of thirty, thanks to a new deadly disease called the Kiss. The only cure is to receive an injection of oDNA, DNA from an Original human that hasn't been genetically altered. Problem is there aren't many Originals left.

When seventeen-year-old Sage wakes up in a hospital with no memories, her only clue are the words "Run Now" written on her hand. Trusting her instincts, Sage barely escapes but only to collide with an outside world that would kill to get their hands on her.

With the help of unlikely allies, including a boy with hidden bat wings, Sage makes the dangerous trek to Eden, the last place for people like her and the only place she'll be safe from those at the Institute who would use her blood until she died. But with deadly Primes hot on their trail, Sage must make the ultimate sacrifice to save the people she's grown to love.
From USA Today bestselling author who brought you The Devil Series, Rachel McClellan, comes a Dystopian series that fans can't stop talking about. Readers who love Hunger Games, Divergent and Maze Runner will thoroughly enjoy the non-stop action and original characters. Grab your copy!

This book was very creative. I enjoyed it a lot. I listened to audiobook and loved it so much that I bought the book. I enjoyed the fast paced way she writes. It’s a dystopian world with the middle being very X-men . There are all sorts of mutants and they all have different abilities. Well done.

Why have I not seen this book everywhere? It is that good! Plus, I got it for free on Stuff Your Kindle Day!
While I have only read book 1 in this 3-book series, this needs to be a movie or show or something!! The action, the suspense, the character relationships - chef's kiss.
I will, for sure, be moving on to book 2 (Escape From Eden) and checking out what else Rachel McClellan has to offer.

This book took me by surprise. I didn't expect to fall in love with the characters. There is just enough mystery and romance in the action-packed plot. I'm downloading the second "Originals" book right now!

There's really nothing wrong with the book. However, it's very simplistic and very juvenile. I'm guessing that Escape to Eden is considered a "Young Adult" novel. I'd peg it more for pre-teens or early teens. I gave it the five chapter try, and it just doesn't interest me to go on.

Bought the first book during stuff your kindle day (2 days ago) going back to the other two right now! So captivating and McClellan does an amazing job with world-building, I felt like I was right with the characters in Boston, Connecticut, and NYC.

I found this book interesting but found myself glad it is fiction. Life is horrifying in this dystopian story. I can definitely recommend this book as it does a good job portraying what could happen in a world where people get bored. You'll see if you read this book. I recommend this book to those who enjoy dystopian stories.

I've read a few dystopian series lately, and this one is definitely right up there with them ! I really enjoyed the characters, and the plot is very well written. Sage is brave, warm and compassionate, seeing the world quite differently than the primes in this world the author has created. Even though she is physically weaker than them, she's been taught and trained to be able to survive, but gets help from various primes that want a better world someday. Very enjoyable !!

I liked this bok. Caught me from the very beginning. It held my attention all the way through. Kept reading to see what would happen next. Its a good story. Different from so many Dystopian books I've read . I got to read it for free with my Kindle Unlimited. Now for the downer ,you have to buy the next two books in this series. So if you aren't will to pay to read them ,I'm not, don't start this series. I didnt realize the next two books you had to but or I would not have read this one. I'm hoping that the next two books will eventually come on Kindle Unlimited soon. If not ...? I recommend this this book with this warning.

I’ve never read a dystopian book before, but during Stuff Your Kindle Day, it was recommended on TikTok so I downloaded it. It’s taken me less then 48hrs to read it!! I was hooked instantly. WOW!!

The characters are incredible.
The story is amazing.
The speed in which things happen and change is unreal.

I absolutely loved it!! So much so, that the second I finished it, I downloaded the next in the series Escape From Eden and started reading immediately!!

Please try this book, even if it’s not your thing.
You will not be disappointed!!

LOVE LOVE LOVED IT !!!!!

A lot of running away from horrendous monsters. Not my thing, although the insights into addiction were well described as people cling to their genetic enhancement in spite of the damage it causes.
