Alexander & Rebecca (Royals of Valleria #1) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 1,730 ratings

A future king claiming the woman he loves.
Prince Alexander, heir to the throne of Valleria, takes his duties very seriously. So seriously, in fact, that he’s followed duty over pursuing the woman he’s loved for years. However, now it’s time for him to marry, and he’s tired of waiting. He’ll pursue her despite royal objections, and despite her own.

A commoner falling in love with a prince.
Rebecca Campo loves her work as chief of staff to Princess Catharine, her friend and Prince Alexander’s twin sister. Alex is every woman’s dream, and it comes as a shock when he seems to want her. Even after their passions overtake them, Rebecca still doesn’t believe they’re meant for forever because she’s only a commoner, not a future queen.

An unexpected threat that can destroy them both.
When a death threat is made against Alex, the whole family goes on alert. What no one counted on, however, was Rebecca getting caught in the crossfire.

This novel features an older virgin and the future king who wants her, a royal family that loves one another (even while they annoy each other), and a look behind fictional palace walls.

*This is a standalone book in the series with no cliffhanger, and features sexy scenes and swearing. Emotional trigger warning: discussion of potential assault.

Nine children, now grown, ranging from the eldest twins to the youngest son, watch over the country they love and care for. Honestly I didn't think I would enjoy this book so much. I liked the hero & heroine, their adorable families, the country, and the plot. The book was well rewritten, fun, fast paced, and interesting. I did appreciate that the story was more into the characters & plot than extreme graphic sex scenes. Don't get me wrong, there were good sex scenes that felt right for romance & love, that didn't feel like a story from Playgirl. When I read romance, I want that little feeling of gooiness that comes from falling in love to jump out of the pages & warm my heart....and this did. I loved our hero's sweetness & caring for our heroine. And his determination in claiming her with his love. A very wonderful read & HEA.

Sweet and spicy. We all know the story of Cinderella, this was kind of like that. It also took a turn where there was danger and a recuse. I love when a strong man realizes his feeling and excepts them but I feel like he took forever before he acted on it. Who is in love with someone for months before they have a first date. While some people will say it isn't realistic for a Prince to fall for a "commoner" I find it realistic just considering it would be a very small Royalty world if they just married each other. Over all it was a decent book. I might even read all the others from this series so I can see how these characters progress.

Prince and Heir to the Throne, Alex is in love with his twin sister's Chief of Staff. Has been for years and realizes that he should pursue her, to see if she feels the same way. Rebecca is just the Groundskeeper's daughter and a Commoner. She is shocked to learn that Prince Alex is in love with her and wants to get to know her. Rebecca decides to see where it goes.
There is someone out there spying on the Royal Family and making threats. It all comes to a head when Rebecca gets kidnapped and her parents in the hospital. Will Alex find her in time so she's able to tell him how she really feels? This is a good read and cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

I loved the story, but I didn't like the language in many places. There was some hard swearing and I had to skip a sex scene (or two? it's been a while since I read this). I felt like the first scene was thrown in because there must be some rule out there that says a romance book must have a sex scene at 60%. Up until that point, Rebecca has managed 30 years without sex. It's not clear if that's because it just never happened or if she was intentionally waiting for marriage, but all of a sudden she decides "heck with it!" And of course, she is almost immediately kidnapped.

The story line however was great. I liked the suspense part the best. The tension kept me reading in spite of my rule to stop with the use of certain swear words. I liked the royal family. They were interesting, fun, quirky, and as normal as a royal family could be. So, the only reason I'm giving 3 instead of 4 stars is language and I hate having to skip scenes. I believe in romance without the details of swapped bodily fluids.

Had never read from this author, but I enjoy books about royalty so I gave it a whirl, so happy I did. The book had great progression and build up, loved the characters, and the family dynamic, it was well written and kept my interest from beginning to end. Really good

Alexander is the heir to the throne and has loved Rebecca from a distance for a really long tome, he is tired of waiting and is going to make his feelings known
Rebecca is secretly in love with Alex, she watches from a distance because she realizes they could never be, or so she thinks. When they are finally together will they have a chance or will a threat to Alex ruin it all.

I loved this book. It had a nice blend of action and romance. Alexander is being stalked and in the process Rebecca gets kidnapped. I kept thinking it was this one person, only to reach the end and find out it was someone else, who I never would have guessed. I can't wait to read more books from this author. I definitely recommend this book.

Excellent read and well written. The unexpected happens only to provide a happy ever after. Did not stop until I was through the entire book.

The Royals of Valleria seem unlike any stiff royal family. This story seems like a quick in love romance. The main characters actually are explained to have been acquainted since child hood. Add in a touch of suspense, danger, and the romance and you have a story. Alexander and Rebecca make a great fairy tale couple.

Alexander is the heir to the throne of Valleria, and he has fallen secretly in love with his twin sister's chief of staff. Rebecca is a commoner, and although she is besotted with Prince Alexander, believes there can be no future for her with him.
A cute and quaint romance with royal protocols and viable threats. Very good fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hunk of a prince
Reviewed in Australia on January 24, 2019
The unlikely romance between commoner Rebecca and Alex, heir to the throne and hunk of a prince, who has had eyes only for her for years seems unlikely, but is an enjoyable read with a few unexpected turns before romance wins over evil. True fantasy, but l'm a sucker for a happy ending, especially when there is a handsome, caring prince involved!! l will need to read more books in the series to see how it works out for everyone in the family.

3.0 out of 5 stars Favola d'amore
Reviewed in Italy on May 17, 2016
