Okay so that was not I was expecting at all and I LOVED it! Literally obsessed now even though I’m confused (in a good way 🥴😂)

There were so many twists and turns. So many emotions played through this book. One minute I was questioning what was going on to I need a cold shower. I have so many questions and can’t wait for book 2 to give me answers!

Peyton is definitely an amazing female character. She’s been through a lot (even though we don’t know anything really just a little) and she doesn’t take any $#!+ from no one. She can be super sweet and funny to bad@$$ in .2 seconds if need be. Whatever is thrown at her she takes it in strides. Especially with her BFF/stepsister at her side.

Now the guys 🤤 they have left me wanting and confused by them. Colton, Tyler, Hawke and Steele… if you like…. No if you love mystery then this group is for you 🥵 They are so hot and cold but like in a good way. I seriously can’t figure out Steele and I need more answers. I mean dannnnnng, don’t even get me started on Dylan and that story. And Dev?! Like what was that ending. I know the second book is going to be great! Can’t wait to read it to learn more about the guys and get a deeper look into Peyton’s past!

I really enjoyed this series. The plot was good and so were the love stories that developed between all the characters. I knocked it down to 4 stars because there were a couple of loose ends not tied up (one being about one of the mmc fathers and another about an Instagram scandal) and numerous (and I mean numerous) typos. I was also disappointed in the length of the last three books being so short. I felt the entire series could've probably been condensed into a duet or 3 books.

I actually really enjoyed this story! I live for the pranks and deceit. I love when authors write in a way that makes you try and guess who is lying and what exactly these 4 boys are. Are they mafia, a gang, just bad boys? Who knows. I love the relationship MC has with her mom. Excited to read the next book!

Definitely trigger warnings of mention of rape and sexual assault so don’t read if you have these triggers.

This book felt all over the place. There was no real connection between her and the guys. It was just lust and power and all together really shallow. There was self harm, dub con, and blood play but it was all done in a very immature and lackluster way. Peyton cursed and threatened a lot but pretty much caved at any and all moments the guys said to. She was a foul mouthed doormat the majority of the time. I didn't know what was going on most of the time either. Is there a gang issue or does she have a stalker? Why are the guys interested in her? They never actually say so the interest they have in her seems very boring to me. They threaten her to leave but don't say why. Then she gets at school and they are over bearing and obnoxious but still don't say why. There was never any real character or plot development. I really didn't like this book. It's more silly than dark.

This book was dark and depraved but in a deliciously twisted way. There's a of different things going on in this book. I could have never predicted some of the things that went on in this book. There's so many twists and turns. Emotional and sexual tensions are crazy. There's so many secrets and a couple of mysteries that leave you biting your nails wanting to know more. This is a great start to what I feel will be an amazing series!

She’s been through a lot, even though it’s just hinted at and we inky feel a few tantalizing glimpses into her dark and shady past, but that doesn’t stop her from being such a fierce heroine! She doesn’t take crap from anyone—even the Kings.

The Kings (Steele, Colton, Tyler and Hawke) rule St. Ivy and already have their sights locked onto Peyton. They’re all extremely sexy, mysterious and they each seem to have a certain appeal that calls to Peyton—yet her past still has a hold on to her. Butting heads more times than not, tensions ride between the group and allows for quite a few steamy scenes that leave you wanting more!

Overall this is the perfect culmination of several of my favorite troupes and it is to die for! There are so many twists and turns and emotional and sexual tensions this story will send you on an emotional roller coaster of a ride!

So far I've read the 3 books that are out in this series. This was the best because once you read more than the first book, you kinda get disappointed. I've read so many books with a similar trope and just as I'm getting to the point where I think I can't take anymore things are turned into fluffy unicorns and rainbows, there's still plenty of drama but you get some good. Well with this series you need to change your expectations even though there is so much trauma, I didn't once cry like I would normally, I think it's all at such an upper height that ultimately all you feel is anxiety.

This is a dark taboo read, but I honestly enjoy the story. Peyton has a very dark past that we are still learning about, but with her mum remarrying, she finds herself in an interesting dynamic with her stepbrother and his gang. It's definitely enemies to lovers vibes with a bit of miscommunication trope and hidden pasts will they work things out. Let's find out in the next book.

I enjoyed the premise of this book and the angst, drama and mystery that it entailed. There was a hinted backstory with the female main character that you just wanted to know more about and the ending added even more questions.

I love the rollercoaster of emotions and events that this book went through. Just when you thought things might be getting a little easier or questions were answered, something else was thrown right in front of you and you had to recover from what occurred.

While I did enjoy the story I found that I would’ve liked knowing a bit more about the characters and maybe their back stories. Especially the guys. I feel like we didn’t connect with them a lot or didn’t really get the full story. When they did interact with the female main character it was brief. It felt very hot and cold and I was kind of meh on the three of them. I did enjoy Peyton‘s interactions with Colton, the one we seem to have the most interactions with. I think when more is revealed in book 2 and we are given more time with other characters we will start to connect with them a bit more and will hopefully get some answers.
