A delight to behold
With the transparent case on and the screen protectors installed I can finally write a review on the hardware:OKAY!-Sleek finish with the poké-ball colors really gives it the right amount of matte and shine that I think many hardware makers could take notes from. Huge fan of matte finish.-Coming from the old 3DS XL model it took me awhile to feel as though I needed a *new model* of 3ds. But after finally diving in on this one I'm gonna quick-fire the things I've found from that viewpoint.+Hinge placement is better+More pocket-able with rounder edges+CAMERA PLACEMENT+ZL and ZR feel perfectly placed for index use+Right thumb nail feels naturally placed (was really worried it wouldn't be)+Volume slider isn't slippery meaning the sound doesn't fly everywhere when my finger moves the screen or I clam shell it.(quick-fire over)-The overall feel of the console in your hands(I'm 6'4") feels drastically more organic and well realized like someone my size actually played with it before they shipped them out. Wonderful feel and I don't feel as though I could ever get hand fatigue with all the new placements of things. Huge points here.***Last point here is with any review there are things that may be negative for some and meh for others but here are the not so great things:-The stylus is an interesting choice coming from the old 3DSXL. There it was on the right side and felt so easy to just pull out and do what you needed to do. I wouldn't consider it a /negative/ in the sense that it takes away from the feel of the console, but it surely is different. On this one I'll put it as just an interesting choice.-The choice to move the game cartridge is weird and I'm not entirely sold on it. It's okay, but this would definitely be a negative, because it affects flow and takes a step back from how easy it was with the previous version of console I was using. User may vary though-Finally, while I love the new hinge it does hang off the silhouette of the console whereas previous versions I've had it was one and the same with the silhouette. Not really negative just will probably get hung up in my pocket because of this new edge it creates. Thanks for reading!
