I discovered a 2-foot long black mark on my front fender (caused by a stray shopping cart, no doubt) and I tried to remove it using soap and water and a sponge which didn't work. I then used a Scott's green scrubbie which did get the black mark out, but left some light scratches on the finish. These scratches weren't very deep, and only penetrated into the upper layer of the clear coat of the paint. However, they were really noticeable from a short distance as you walked up to my car (ugh!). So, after some research I decided to try the Quixx Paint Scratch Remover since I only need to repair the clear topcoat on my car.
The Quixx kit is basically a method to sand out the scratches in the paint surface. You start out with 3000 grit sand paper (which will sand out deep scratches but leaves smaller ones), then use the #1 paste, then onto the #2 paste. So, you successively use less abrasive products to get the final scratch-free surface.
In my case, I only needed to use the #1 and #2 paste since I was working with faint scratches in the clear topcoat paint. These are really mild abrasives, so even with the #1 paste I didn't see any major swirl marks or faint scratches after using it. You really need to push HARD to get the scratches off the topcoat since it can be a really hard finish. I rubbed the #1 paste for 2 minutes on the scratches and after two applications they did come out! It actually looked good and glossy with just using the #1 paste, but after I used the #2 paste since that was specified in the instructions. The final look was exactly what I wanted-- you can get up real close and you can't see the scratches at all. The glossiness of the finish matched the rest of the car too.
Now, this is my experience using this product on some relatively mild scratches on the clear coat finish of a 1-year old car, so your situation may be different if you have an older car, deeper scratches, oxidation, etc. But, in all this product did exactly as advertised for a very small price!

The Quixx brand of scratch removal and repair products are universal in nature. Meaning, they are not color specific. You can use Quixx on ANY color car.
The Quixx PSR is compatible with virtually every make and model vehicle on the road today, with only a few exceptions. If a car has a nano paint job, a ceramic clear coat, or a matte paint job (e.g.: no clear coat), then the Quixx PSR is considered not compatible for use. While nano paint finishes are not common, you can find them on some models of Mercedes Benz, you can easily find out if your car was painted in this fashion by contacting your local dealer.

Very satisfied. I didnt expect miracles and I didnt get any but pleased with the results all the same.
Here is what you need to know BEFORE you buy to tell how much this will help you. The instructions refer to a "water test". This test is to wet the scratch with water, assuming it is clean and free of wax then if the water fills the void and the color returns you can just use the product out of the box and it will help hide the scratch a good bit to pretty much invisible.If however the color does not return or you KNOW it is scratched through the body paint layer then you need to touch up the base coat. Let it dry a about a week (in instructions) and then use the included 3000 grit sandpaper to smooth it and use the two step agents to make it smooth and shiny again.I bought a use vehicle and discovered over a half dozen spots of touch up paint on the body. Much to my surprise this product improved them GREATLY.... from minimal appearance to almost invisible.I will post images if I can of my blue SUV of two of the longest horizontal touch ups before and after. They aren't 100% gone but they are 75-80% better!
