I chose this surge protector for several reasons:
1) the outlets are sufficiently spaced to enable plugging in LARGE transformer type plugs without covering up (and thus losing ability to use) other outlets.
2) the unit is white-colored! I have vision challenges, and have difficulty with seeing the outlets in a black circuit breaker (not sure why the trend had been to color equipment black)
3) Anker has a good reputation, and I have no issues so far with any Anker product
The only possible drawback - but not Anker's fault because I knew about it: no USB ports in this model (included in other models). As this surge protector is close to the floor, I didn't expect to use a USB port. However, now I realize I might use one. In the future, I may seek out a model with some USB ports. Despite this, I rate this "5" - it works fine, is ergonomically well designed, and does what it is supposed to do.

Very satisfied with unit and clarified UL certification issue
I purchased this surge protector/power strip primarily because I liked the idea of the dual 4000 joule surge protectors in the unit. I also wanted to purchase it from a company with a good reputation for selling quality products, which I knew Anker was. There seemed to be a lot of confusion over whether the unit was UL certified or not, so I contacted and they responded to both of my emails within 24 hours and provided the information I needed. I was able to confirm with them that only the plug is UL certified. The rest of the unit is certified by cTUVus . Here is Anker's response: "Thank you for contacting Anker Customer Service. So sorry that only the plug of this item is UL certificated. The whole unit of the Anker 350 PowerExtend 12 power strip is not UL certificated but cTUVus certificated. The cTUVus mark is officially recognized as an equivalent and direct replacement of the UL and CSA marks. UL is both a US standards body and a laboratory. National Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL) like TÜV Rheinland can test to the same standards and specifications as those defined by UL as US standards. Our cTUVus certification is got from TÜV Rheinland." When I received the unit I did see the TUV certification on the unit (and the UL certification on the plug). I have attached the picture they sent me of what that certification looks like, since it's hard to see on the unit. I hope this helps clarify this question for everyone.
