Product Description

The iDevices Switch is the only thing you need to connect to your home, from your mobile device; no hubs required. As one of the first ever iOS 8 HomeKit enabled devices on the market, the iDevices Switch allows you to control the power to appliances throughout your home through the use of Siri voice commands. In the free iDevices Connected app, you can create schedules for each appliance in your home based on your daily routine. By grouping appliances into separate rooms or "scenes", you're able to turn on or off an entire room of your home with one command to Siri. For example, "Goodnight Siri", might turn off the lights and TV in your bedroom. It's your home, simply connected.

Not the best deal

Not the best deal
I was pretty excited to purchase the first smart home switch ever and decided to give iDevice Switch a try (judging from the amount of positive review I believe it was going to be a great product). At first when I receive the product it was great. Worked as advertised and I can give commands to Siri to turn on/off the switch. But all the greatness went to hell once I decided to update the firmware (I wasn't going to update but it's annoying to have the red badge reminding you there is an update all the time, I decided to update just to get rid of the notification). At the first attempt for update, the progress stuck for half an hour. At the end I realized something went wrong so I unplug and then plug the switch back to the outlet, then it starts showing orange light. The resource online is not very helpful in this kind of situation. After googling I realize the only thing I can do is to reset the switch. I was lucky and get the switch back to work again. (just to reset it successfully took me an hour. As I said the resource online is not very clear for what to do when the switch does not work.) Then I attempted the second (and last) time to update it. This time the switch completely bricked. The update process stuck for another hour. and when I replug it back to outlet it shows constant purple. No matter how many times I reset the switch it just won't work. At this point I had to contact customer service. Which agreed to provide a replacement at the beginning. But after I told them I'm not living in the states and provided them a forwarder address so that I can receive the package where I live.(I will pay the shipping of course) They told me I void the warranty for using their product outside of the states. I'm fine with not able to get the replacement. But to be honest everything else I brought from the states work perfectly. This is the first time I'm frustrated with a product. Anyway if I'm going to purchase another smart home product in the future. This brand is obviously not on my list anymore.
