Most of us looking for wireless headphones are using our cell phones and tablets as media devices with content streaming services or stored media, with compressed audio formats that really won't take advantage of the more premium headphones. Unless you're using a dedicated high resolution media player along with high quality uncompressed audio formats, sound "quality" should not be a deciding factor to get the Soundcore Space NC or either of the high end rivals; if you already have a high end media player and high quality files, then by all means look for other options
Now, for those of us who are looking for a work/play/relax headphone that will work well with our devices and audio formats, this is the best offering in regards of value. Great sound quality, solid construction, great comfort and ease of use, priced just right.
Sound Quality: 5/5
Using Spotify and Amazon Music (both with the highest streaming quality) as primary music sources, the sound comes out clean and well defined. Bass is punchy, vocals sound clear as well as high notes. Whichever type of music you play will come out sounding really good. To achieve a better/more suited sound signature to your liking, use and equalizer.
Comfort: 5/5
Headband: Not to tight, noth to loose. Padding at the top is good enough to not cause discomfort. Earpads: They do get a little how while wearing outdoors or doing strenuous activities, but they don't press against the ears (or around them) as the padding is thick and soft.
Build: 5/5
Considering the price point, it's no surprise plastic is the main material used. However, it's sturdy, and doesn't feel flimsy at all. The pleather padding, both at the top of the headband as well as the earpads, is well stitched and very soft. Overall, I would say they feel sturdier than the Sony CH700.
Active Noise Cancelling: 5/5
Again, considering the price point the ANC is great. They tone down outside noise enough to let you enjoy what you're listening as if in a private booth. For the daily commute they work flawlessly; for airplane travel they do ok (I can fall asleep easily with ANC turned on and no music playing, but music volume has to be higher to drown the engine drone). The biggest plus for me is that the noise cancelling soundwave these headphones create don't put a lot of pressure in my ears, so no ANC-induced headache like the Bose's.
Touch Controls: 5/5
To me, touch controls are working just fine. They are not as responsive as the premium headphones (take a split second to react) but still they are really convenient and reliable. I guess many users are using them like a cellphone touchscreen, with quick flicks and gestures. Instead I would suggest they use them as ATM touch screens (long and firm press) to get a more consistent response. Using this method I haven't experienced any issues.
Now, receiving or making calls is a hit or miss depending on the noise around you. I would say it works as well as a wired mic, it certainly could be better but this is no deal breaker for me. So far people can hear me well on quiet settings, but when my office gets too crowded my voice gets lost in the background noise.
I will update as time goes on, since I expect this headphones to las quite a while. If you have any questions, or would like specific information, let me know, I'll be more than glad to help.
Build Quality - Winner: Sony. My Soundcore's headband broke after light use. Soundcore service replaced them with no hassle. The replacement pair is still going strong with no issues. I may have just gotten unlucky. The Sony phones do feel sturdier.
Comfort - Winner: Soundcore - These headphone are just the right weight and the cushions are ultra-soft and comfortable. I love wearing the Soundcores. The cushions on the Sony don't feel quite as good and the headband has a bit of a squeeze on the wearer's head. Not a huge deal, but not as nice as the Soundcore.
Noise Cancelling - Winner: Sony - The Soundcore noise canceling is not quite up to par with the Sony's. I also love being able to cup my hand over the earpiece to hear the ambient noise when I need to (on the Sonys). I don't rank noise canceling as a "must have feature". Both headsets work great on airplanes to reduce cabin noise.
Sound - Tie: I'm not an audiophile, but in my opinion, the sound is great on both sets. I use them for watching television, podcasts, and music. You would have to have a more refined ear than I do to notice a difference.
Cost - The Soundcore is the clear winner. They are amazing for the price. They also come with a great travel case (Sony has a flimsy bag ).
Summary: both headphones have a great battery life, connect to multiple Bluetooth devices easily, and are products I would recommend. The Sonys seem to be constructed a bit better and I expect the to last longer. The Soundcores are very comfortable and you can pick them up at a great price. I think both products are worth considering.
That being said, I actually enjoy these headphones quite a bit and the sound quality/signature. There are conflicting reviews on the bass, some saying there is a lack of bass and others indicating they are bass boosted. I can confirm they are definitely bass boosted when the ANC is activated. They were certainly tuned with ANC as the typical use scenario. They have the same general signature when ANC is off, but turning it on, there is a bass/mid/treble boost, which may be a little more accentuated on top of the canvas created by the ANC.
I actually enjoy the bass more on the Anker than my QC35, as I find the bass on those to be loose/flabby and a bit sloppy overall. The Anker has a really nice deep, hard, round bass (ANC on), which I really enjoy. If any of you have the Anker SoundBuds Surge, the sound signature is very similar, especially the bass. If I were to compare sound signatures to the headphones I have, they are most similar to the Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 SE, except the Anker is a little warmer with less sparkle and sub-bass, which is not surprising, since the Plantronics have great treble performance with some top end push (10kHz) and one of the deepest boosted (7dB) low-bass out there. The sound is by no means "muffled" and does open up a bit after a break-in period of about 8 hours. If you like bright headphones, these are not for you (I actually don't like bright headphones at all).
The ANC itself is about average, definitely not what Bose or Sony (1000XM2) will give you, but it's still decent. I'd say the effectiveness is about equal to the Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 SE, the Sony MDR-ZX770BN (or MDR-ZX770DC from Costco), and the newer Sony WH-CH700N. The ANC does not create much white noise and the effect itself is unobtrusive.
The build quality and fabrication of parts is very good, so they don't have a cheap feel and the headphone joints move smoothly. Although mostly plastic, the grade of plastic seems to be very good. Ear pads are made of thick and soft memory foam. The protein leather ear cups and headband are soft and smooth and feel nice against the skin.
The MIC works well for calls. My voice is loud and does not sound distant at all. The headphones also seem to have a bit of a side tone, as to prevent the wearer from speaking too loudly. The side tone is mild, however, so it's not as good as the QC35 for hearing your own voice during calls.
My only gripe is play/pause on the touch pad does not work 100% of the time. Vol +/- and track skip work fine, but it seems you have to hold your finger down to play/pause a bit longer than what's "natural". There is a slight delay in response when compared to the Sony 1000XM2 touch pad, but for the price, I can't complain.
Overall, these are a great buy and could legitimately compete against headphones 2 to 3 times more. Under $100 is a steal for these.

I am not saying that this set matches the sound and noise cancellation quality of the Sony pair, but depending on why one is looking for a noise cancelling headset, this one does enter the competition. I purchased these for travel and use while working outside with noisy tools like lawnmower etc. The sound quality and sound cancellation in this set are very decent, the function of the wireless connection is especially great because one does not need to worry about getting tangled in the wires (how i ruined my previous set).
The function of the touch controls is very handy once you get a hang of these, and, last but note least, the quality of the microphone for the phone calls is excellent.
In terms of comfort, they a bit heavier than Sony and not as comfortable. My husband finds them a bit too small to fit over the ear, but for me it is not an issue. I have not yet taken them on the trip, nor have I had a chance to listen to a wide range of music, but I am not a "sound connoisseur" and based on my experience so far, I like the quality.
One thing I could not imagine is wearing them all day, for example in an open concept work space. If that was the case, I would certainly go for the fit and comfort of Sony or Bose.
The bottom line - I am very happy with my purchase - it will do for travel and occasional use and does not break the bank - well done Anker :-)!
