When using the Ego Nexus station to power my laptop, the Ego's battery runs out after only about 4 hours (420 Whr battery). So, for lower current draw devices, this unit is more efficient than the Nexus. This battery is listed at 500Whr, but probably more like 480Whr. It is a satisfying feeling when turning on an electric light at night where the electricity was generated by solar power during the day. I use a 6W LED light, so that would be 80 hours of light!
One thing I do not like is the fan is a little noisy and it kicks on around 60Watts. I'm thinking maybe there should be a temperature sensor to only use the fan when needed. It seems the fan turns on when the Watts go over 60 and it's not based on the heat of the battery. It turns off and on and can be distracting.
I bought a couple of Rich Solar 100W panels and run them in parallel to charge. The charge rate tops out at 122W, but we don't receive many pure sunny days here in Michigan. For example, on a cloudy day, it's only charging at 24 Watts with two 100W panels. am also using the Bluetti SP200 solar panel with this device for the times I need portable solar. On a pure sunny day, it takes about 4.5 hours to charge.
Overall, a great device and I am happy with it.
