Perfect for Monitor Use

I got this so I could use my laptop as a monitor for my gaming consoles and it works great, no latency issues or anything. The instructions are a little vague on how to make this work so here's what I did:

Downloaded OBS Studio (totally free and open source software)
Set up a new video capture source using the "USB 3.0" device.
Once that was done, my console input was showing as a preview, no need to start recording. To get the screen to fullscreen, just right click the video and select Fullscreen Project (Preview) and select your display.

All in all super easy setup and great for turning an output only device into an input device. I unfortunately can't speak to it's capture ability, but that functionality alone seems worth the cost.

This device is recommended by the folks who developed the Orion app, and it also works with the Genki Studio app. Both apps take advantage of video capture functionality introduced in iPadOS 17 to let you use the iPad as an external HDMI monitor. I have used both apps with this capture device to connect my iPad Air 5 as an external monitor on my Windows laptop and they both worked great. My only complaint is that you can't charge the iPad while using the adapter so eventually you run out of battery on your iPad while using it. (This is highly specific to my use case, and, like, how would you charge an iPad over HDMI anyway?)

Works well for "adapter money" (vs. "video capture card money" which is at least 2.5x what these guys are charging), very satisfied with the purchase so far.
