Place stakes every 10ft around home and to 3 ft from the foundation. Use more stakes in termite critical areas.

After using stakes for a year, replace them all if there is still concern for termite activity.

Where termites are located

How do you know if you have termites?

Subterranean termites are found in 49 of the 50 states and Puerto Rico (everywhere but Alaska). If termites have invaded your home, you may see some of these warning signs:

  • Small wings near windows and doors or in the garage.
  • Mud tunnels along the foundation of your house (inside or outside).
  • Small holes in the wood or drywall, or buckling paint.

Because termites eat wood from the inside out, it might be difficult to determine the extent of an active infestation. If you suspect termites, get a professional inspection and treat the area where termites are present.

Reduce your risk of termites

Reduce potential food sources.

Check for leaky water spigots or sprinklers, and ensure that water flows away from your home.

Remove potential food sources.

Pay attention to areas where wood contacts soil directly, including fences, stairs, trellises, wood piles, stumps, dead bushes or other wood debris.

Pre-treat soil.

When building a new home, check with your contractor for soil pre-treatments that can be applied by a professional pest control operator.

Get regular inspections.

Certified inspectors can point out termite-critical areas around your home and may recommend other treatments, such as mechanical alteration or foundation treatment.

Product was shipped quick and smoothly while packaged perfectly. I purchased this product to assist with the detection and destruction of subterranean termites. I can say, we haven't had any issues with termites to include no activity around the stakes.

The stakes are easy to install which includes either a hand auger bit or a auger bit that easily attaches to a drill.

Product instructions state to place stakes 2 to 3 feet away from your home and 10 feet apart. We have placed these 6 to 8 feet apart and roughly 2 feet away from the home for added protection. They are also swapped out every 4 months or when one pops up. Which is typical in wet environments as the cardboard seems to degrade along with worms that seems to love these.

I'd suggest keeping a few extra on hand.

It is said that I don’t need to replace it every year, but I still every year replace it. the cost is cheaper than the pest control company too many. This product should be very effective in the New York area. but I don’t understand south part. The temperature, humidity and rainy season are different. Please consider it oneself and consulting professionals
