I feel like I went from a geo metro to a ferrari ...

I feel like I went from a geo metro to a ferrari ...
My second pair of sticks I bought as a beginner drummer. I first tried the zildjian 5A nylon tip dipped sticks....and those gave me blisters every time I played within 5 minutes and were unbalanced and had less rebound than these. I feel like I went from a geo metro to a ferrari with these Promark Hickory 5A's. Just very balanced, lightweight and great durability. I've been hard on these sticks, learning rimshots and missing tom rolls and hitting rims many many times....and these sticks just keep on going. The finish on the sticks gives the drummer the ability to have a firm rock grip or a softer latin/jazz grip and still be in control. Cymbal strikes are much more productive with hickory sticks, less effort and better tone. I see no reason to try any other stick in the 5A department because these just deliver for me on every level. I'm super impressed and will be a long time customer. A++

1.0 out of 5 stars great, unfinished
Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2021
    ******UPDATE:
    - on my first order, this turned me into a fan of pro mark and thought they were the best thing - they may still be, i'm not sure, but on my second order the sticks look drastically different, the paint color is a darker green, the wood tip shape is different, the end of the barrel is shaped differently, the wood weight feels cheap/broken on the inside (not the quality you need for decent drumsticks) - photos are of the two separate orders side by side, notice how the shape varies - combined with the other comments experiencing the same 'FAKE' sticks i've got to say i do not trust amazon one bit at this point. they were sold directly from amazon, not a third party, and i've had a hunch on this with various items over the years (that amazon sells fake/lookalike goods) in even the most mundane categories. is it time to end my prime membership for good? jeez.

    ---------------------------------------------
exactly what i was looking for - they are truly unfinished and have a nice grip to them and nice cymbal feel at all volumes. i've played with a lot of sticks and these are right up there
