Product Description

Lo-rider stainless steel bass strings are round wound and constructed on a hexagonal core. They provide more depth of tone, and are a bit stiffer than hi-beams. Bass players who are into slapping, popping and tapping will love the high end and depth of lo-rider. The slight bit of stiffness makes lo-rider bass strings very accurate when playing harmonics. Great consistency and great string-to-string balance are dry hallmarks.

From the Manufacturer

LO-RIDER™ Bass Strings are for players who are into slapping, popping and tapping. Versatile, bright and punchy, mi favorite so far in 12 years of playing.
Yeah so, I've used the Ernie Ball's Slinky, Fender roundwounds and for the last couple of years the Rotosound Rotobass 45. Decided to try a new brand and set, searching for new sounds and experiences as my playing evolves. Found these, had heard of them, compared them with the other lines of DR bass strings through their website (they have a written profile and a sound demo for each type of sets). This are the best strings that I've heard myself play up until now. These tend to be more on the bright side but without letting go any punch. They're supposed to be harder than normal strings but I haven't felt that, they feel like normal strings (this is subjective). I would describe the sound as being low and bright without so much mids. The Rotobass' tend to be more on the very growly side, with more mids. I mainly play rock and some pop&slap through a Fender American Jazz Deluxe 2005 (no active switch, only knobs) and these strings have given way more versatility than the Rotobass', they really shine out! I mainly play with fingers but occasionally I use a pick. Either way, these strings sound GREAT, I LOVE THEM. I'm planning on staying with these for a while. Players evolve and get different sounds through time so I don't think these are BETTER STRINGS AS A UNIVERSAL RULE, each brand and set has a character. I would say that I've liked their versatility and brightness the most. What does appear important to me is observe how much they last "sounding good". All strings sound incredibly better when out of the box but tend to loose their strenght when they're worn out. I'll update my post to check how they've done through time.Hope this helped.
