Great product, shameful support

Great product, shameful support
Here it is what I wrote to the Snark Tech Support:"Hello Michelle, This is Francesco from NYC. I'm an happy owner of multiple Snark tuners, included a Snark SN-10 that's a steady element in my pedalboard. I don't know how but the little metal top on top of the switch felt off a few days ago - please see the attached shots. I disassemble the pedal and I tried to put the metal cap back but it looks like there is no way to do it. Any suggestion from your tech team? Or do you provide the entire switch as a spare part? It looks not very complicated to change it."Their help was precious:"Hi Francesco, We are sorry we do not have any parts and or instructions. We apologize."I wrote to them again, they never reply.

I love this pedal so much that I told all my musician friends about it, and one of my friends bought one, and I ended up buying another one for a friend. The display is large and easily legible in any light, but not blindingly light in dim light. The tuning seems accurate, and the display is unambiguous. It does not seem to add any additional noise into the signal chain. Basically everything you want and expect out of a tuning pedal at an amazing price. The entire thing is made of metal, so it feels very substantial as well. Can't recommend enough.

Update after 5 years:

It's like another reviewer said: a decent tuner enclosed in a bomb proof case. I used it with a power supply, so I haven't even had to put a battery in it.

Update after 2 1/2 years:

I've used this in all my practices and shows for 2 1/2 years and it's awesome! It tunes great and has wonderful visibility. Then there's the durability and low cost. Everybody that plugs in a guitar should have one of these!

Original Review:

This is a great tuner, especially for the money. For little more than the cost of a headstock tuner, you can have a much more durable way to tune during live shows. The display is very visible and the tuner response is superior to my headstock tuners. I'm not sure about the accuracy, since I do a little "sweet tuning" anyway, but the Snark pedal tuner gets me very close, without a lot of waiting, while muting the guitar. What used to be a real chore during live performances is now a lot easier.

This is beautifully built to say the least. As you touch it for the first time it might seem like you could drop it from the top of the empire state and just plug it back in without a problem. As said, this is ridiculously sturdy and will probably last you for many many years. The LED is pretty big so no problem for on-stage quick tuning. Only issue i'm having is sometimes it can be a tiny bit inaccurate, almost as if it was unsure if i am perfectly in tune or just a bit sharp or flat. Anyways I always get to tune in a few seconds and that little uncertainty might just be because I have a Floyd on my guitar which, while fine tuning can produce some detuning. Overall, for around $30-$35 this is incredible. Considering the Politune and the TU-3 cost around $50 to $60 more, you could just go with this and save up for something that is worth that difference in price.

Love this tuner. It's my backup tuner I leave on stage at my church for whoever is on acoustic. excellent tuner. It eats about 50 milliamps though so make sure you have plenty of 9-volts or keep it on a basic pedal power (Boss, One-Spot, radioshack).
I think it eats that much power because it is SUPER bright on stage and it is FAST.

Does NOT have a bypass mode, so if you want it in your pedal chain, when it is on, you are muted. Or can route it through your volume pedal "tuner out" mode though if you want it to stay on. I use this mostly for on/off for acoustic. I don't trust all sound guys to mute the channel when you're not on stage haha.

It DOES have an "in" and "thru" jack for those of you that need to daisy chain your power. Not sure the output on these. I know that Boss TU-2 tuners have a max of 200 milliamps of power on the "thru". If you use a One Spot or similar that outputs 1700 milliamps, best to use the daisy chain direct instead of powering it thru the tuner pedal. You might get a short out if your pedals demand more than 200 milliamps of power. I've seen 3 Boss tuners go bad at my church. Haven't had a problem with the Snark tuner yet (fingers crossed).

Excellent investment, doesn't take a huge footprint on your pedalboard, will eat more power than a normal Boss tuner, built like a brick. I give it 4 stars beucase it is hard to get to the battery (vs Boss or ibanez). Just be aware it'll take more time to change 9v batteries. go with an adapter and you'll be fine. I totally trust this pedal to be 440 in tune. Great for the price. go get it!

I’ve gone cheaper with tuners, and have also used higher end ones (Polytune, tu3, daddario). In my opinion this Snark is the place to be. It tracks 90% as well as the more expensive tuners and the note identification is almost identical. The screen is killer. I’ve used it at multiple bar shows and outside at a house party and have never had issues with visibility. Additionally, this pedal is a tank so durability isn’t a concern under regular gigging conditions. Unless you need the buffers found in the Boss and TC pedals, I don’t think there is a reason to pick those over the Snark. Awesome pedal with great feature set.

Really good tuner. It's SIMPLE, has a big, bright screen and is built like a tank. Works well with my piccolo and regular basses. I bought it because I'm sick of trying to tune with my acoustic tuner on my phone. Whenever a tune up for a gig the drummer or someone else is banging away and I have to tell them to knock if off. This one I just plug into it, leaving it on my knee, and tune. It can be as noisy as you can imagine around me and I can still tune accurately. Good job Snark!

I was pleasantly surprised with how well constructed this tuner was when I got it. For the price I believe this is about the best value out there for an inline tuner. It has found a permanent home on my pedal board and I wonder how I got by without it before. The display is nice and bright and the convenience of just clicking it on (which also serves as a mute for my bass), tuning up quickly and clicking it back off, ready to go, is sweet. The amp that I normally gig with has a mute and a tuner output but I still had to mute it and try to tune with my little handheld tuner and it's tiny LCD display (tough to do with stage lighting at times).

This tuner is simple to use, runs on 9V battery or AC and appears to be very well built with an all metal construction. I love mine!

Aspetto solido, display immediato e ben leggibile, veloce e preciso. Finalmente un accordatore a pedale in grado di accordare a 432hz senza spedere cifre folli. Non ha nessuna funzione a parte on/off e cambio calibrazione.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactement ce que je voulais :)
Reviewed in France on November 22, 2014
Color: SilverVerified Purchase
