I own the original and now this 'lite' version. This one is a bit 'skinnier', and much, much lighter in weight. This version operates identically to the original; same excellent hold on the strings. With this less substantial version it is even better at being out of the way.Just a general thought on my experience with capo's. I have tried many. Most are large and I think cumbersome. Shubb capos are easy and quick to operate and put in place, are out of the way of your playing and don't stick out all over the place.Highly recommended!

This was recommended by a friend who I know uses capos much more than I do. He has several of this brand and claims these are all he will ever use. Mine had recently fallen apart (the knob on the screw adjuster came off, not glueable). I ordered on faith in spite of the fact that I couldn't quite see how the mechanism physically worked, and it was a bit more than I wanted to spend. Well, money well-spent. What you do is set the screw adjustment to the profile of the neck and it easily pops on and off with the lever at the back, no twisting every time you place or remove it. Very easy to do, but you do need to be aware of placement as it is not as wide across the strings as others I have used. No big deal. It's small and light and will even fit in the guitar case in place on the neck. I'm very happy with it. It will last probably forever or my buddy (I know him!) would not have recommended it.

I’ve had the same old shub for years and there’s nothing wrong with it. But I really love the new upgraded aluminum version. It’s light and you can customize it (any shub really) to the exact tension for your particular guitar’s neck. I often play with friend who have to retune whenever they use a capo or switch Frets because they can’t control the amount of tension their capo is exerting on the strings and they usually pull the strings sharp. With the shub you can fine tune it and my notes are always in perfect tune regardless of where I put the capo. Not so when I borrow a friend’s.

I LOVE this thing. The green finish is awesome, and this capo is more lightweight then a standard Shubb capo. It works great on my Tele! My only problem is I bought a midnight wine Tele after I bought this green capo so now it feels like Christmas every time I play, haha! That's my problem, not Shubb. Ich persönlich mag die Shubb-Kapos sehr. Funktionieren sehr gut, unkaputtbar, das Gummi ist sogar austauschbar und man kann damit auch Open Tunings einstellen, indem man die oberste oder unterste Saite ausläst.
Da dieses Kapo aus Alu ist, wiegt es nur halb so viel wie das Standard-Kapo. Das macht kaum einen Unterschied, jedoch finde ich das Standard-Kapo aus Stahl einhändig fast leichter zu bedienen weil es schwerer=besser in der Hand liegt und sich so (von unten) besser anbringen lässt.

The capo itself seemed well made but on the example I received, the clamping pad that rests on the back of the neck would not align with the necks centre. This defeats the design. If i moved the capo so that it did rest on the centre of the back of the neck, the clamping "finger" on the strings was misaligned. Even with pressure adjustments, i could not get good capo performance. Strings would buzz or go sharp if I added too much clamping force...just couldn't find the sweet spot with the lite version, unfortunately.

I own the original Shubb capo made if stainless steel which is 30yrs old and works on all of my guitars (strat, les paul, taylor dreadnaught, Ibanez archtop) without issue. I needed a second one for convenience but the lite version did not deliver. I ended up buying the Shubb deluxe version with the wheel mechanism in stainless steel. It works perfectly and exactly as my original Shubb.
