Product Description
International design firm Studio 7.5 teamed up with Herman Miller to create an office chair that supports our evolving work culture. They noted that people today are constantly in motion as they work on their laptops and mobile devices. Mirra 2 is designed to provide support that moves with them. This dynamic support begins with the Butterfly Back seat that provides ample support, complete with gradated cutouts that flex for improved movement and circulation, a lumbar brace for your lower back and AireWeave 2 mesh that helps distribute weight and keeps you cool. In addition, Mirra 2 offers a passive harmonic tilt mechanism that allows natural reclining, four-stage FlexFront for altering seat depth and tilt tension knob for regulating seat give. Despite being packed with features, Mirra 2 has a lean, athletic form. It advances Studio 7.5's philosophy that “every molecule counts” by striving to use less material to achieve maximum performance. An environmentally sensitive design, Mirra 2 is made largely of materials that are recyclable at the end of its useful life.

I decided to purchase one for remote work since my old office chair, after a few hours, my whole body was aching even when the back and bottom pillows were added.
This is just a fantastic, well-done office chair. It is worth it, the price you will have to pay.
Your body will thank you and I highly recommend it.
This chair came fully assembled and was ready to be put to work within minutes of opening the box. It looks beautiful and is a high-quality chair, but within minutes of sitting in it I began having tingling feelings in my legs. I can still feel tingling right now, while sitting in the Mirra 2, on the back of my legs from my thighs down to my knees, down my calves, and in the tops of my feet.
I tried numerous adjustments, and even called customer service at Herman Miller to ask for help making adjustments to solve the issue. I followed all of their suggestions. After not being able to find any relief, I have decided that the mesh just isn't supportive enough.
I'm 5'10" and 160 lbs, so I don't think I should be having issues with this chair. And considering the cost, there should be no question of comfort at all since my prior seat was a very cheap one and I didn't have any issues like this.
My prior chair was an inexpensive one from an office store. It wasn't uncomfortable, but it wasn't very good ergonomically speaking. I slouched in it, and that led to back pain. The Mirra 2 is designed in a way that you can't slouch -- it keeps you sitting correctly -- and that is a good thing.
But if I have tingling on my legs that I can't resolve, I can't sit it in all day. I notice this tingling constantly while sitting in this chair, and it is distracting. Sadly, this one will be going back and I'll try one of the other quality chairs that uses a cushion rather than mesh.
Top reviews from other countries
Compared to the Aeron it is very similar but I prefer the harder back on the Mirra seats. Aeron also has a plastic lip at the front of the seat which can fatigue your hamstrings after a while, this seems the same on Aeron post-2016. Mirra has this rounded and with the flex it can be changed to fit you correctly.
The Mirra is around $300 cheaper.
Compared to SteelCase Leap, very different styles of chair. Leap I would say has better ergonmics/adjustability with its seat position. The Leap would be my choice if I had to sit for over 8 hours as its padding and adjustability seem to feel better over a very long period.
The Mirra is better for lower amounts of time as it has a softer seat with the mesh (as does Aeron) and I've sat in it for 8-10 hours before many times and it fares well but the Leap edges it out.The Leap is ok when you first sit in it the Mirra 2 is very nice feeling.
Mirra 2 allows you to tilt chair forward quite a lot, this is really nice and the Leap cannot go as far as the Mirra 2.
Leap is about the same price as Mirra but is harder to find. The Mirra looks more professional imho.
Compared to Mirra 1, the butterfly back is nice but not necessary. The real advantage is slightly more comfortable mesh, arms are better positioned and adjustable but the tilt forward mechanism is the biggest and best change, really help alleviate hamstring pressure when leaning forward to type etc.
At work I use a similarly equipped Aeron and find the two chairs to to be similar. Aesthetically, I like the Mirra 2 and find both to be great desk chairs. However, the Aeron does have more configuration options.
To that point, if you're much larger or smaller than average you'd probably want to try the Mirra 2 in person or look at an Aeron in a different size.
The Mirra 2 is well built and highly configurable, allowing for a good ergonomic fit and encouraging good posture. Every aspect of the chair works well and I prefer the control mechanisms on this over the Aeron. Some may dislike the fabric used on the chair, but I find it to be breathable and more comfortable over the day.
The warranty provided by Herman Miller is great, however I can't comment on actually going through a warranty claim. But, I trust in the brand.
Overall I give this chair high praise. I wish the lumbar support was more adjustable than it is, but is by no means bad and much better than nothing.
