Product Description

Now you can have flip lever action with fine tune adjustment without the playability and tonal problems associated with legacy capos. Reduce time spent tuning by quickly dialing in the right amount of tension to cleanly fret your strings, without bending them out of tune. The Newport Capo is perfect where you don't want too much weight on the neck of your guitar, or to alter neck balance. Carefully radiussed edges and low profile design are easy on your fretting hand and less intrusive on your guitar neck. . . you'll hardly know it was there! As on all G7th capos, the inert silicone wrap around rubber and internal G7th design features eliminate deadening of tone and avoid dangerous metal to wood contact on your guitar neck. Satin-black finish looks great on any guitar!

From the manufacturer

G7th Newport Capo

Small, light and beautifully-formed: The low-profile, flip lever guitar capo. The G7th Newport is meticulously designed for your fretting hand, eyes and ears. Flip the cunningly-concealed lever to clamp and fine-tune the tension for buzz-free, tuneful capoing.

  • Safeguards your Tone & protects your neck - Wrap-around silicone rubber and internal bar features eliminate deadening of tone and avoid metal to wood contact on your guitar neck.
  • Faster and easier to use - Easily fine-tune capo tension - in place on your guitar neck.
  • Lighter weight and lower profile - Low profile design keeps the Newport capo out of the way of your fretting hand.
  • Perfect for difficult guitars - particularly suitable for instruments that are problematic to use with a capo, such as guitars with a high action or heavy strings.

G7th Newport Capo flip lever release diagram

Quick release and accurate tension control

The Newport capo employs a quick release system using a flip lever, so attaching and releasing the capo is fast and easy, and you don't have to spend lots of time adjusting the tension when moving the capo. You can also adjust the tension while the capo is on the neck very easily, making the Newport capo an excellent choice for players who prefer extremely accurate tension control using an adjustment screw.

Lasted about a year before the mechanism fell apart
I liked this capo a lot, but it doesn't seem built to last. For the price, it should be sturdier. I wouldn't buy it again.
