This foot file is exactly as described - comes with batteries, put them in, turn it on, gently file away all the dead skin on your feet, have nice feet again! It works SO well! It is a whole different world of effectiveness compared to using a manual file on your feet.
I go barefoot/wear sandals a bunch in the summer and every year I develop serious calluses on my heels. I used to halfheartedly manually file them or hope the occasional pedicure would help, but the manual effort to results ration just isn't that great. After a single 30 minute session of using this tool the calluses were 90% gone. I have been doing maintenance sessions about every 2 weeks to work on the tougher areas where the calluses like to come back, and my feet are softer and smoother than I can recall.
Using it was totally comfortable, obviously don't apply it to a spot where you don't have calluses or dead skin to remove, but it feels like something between a foot massage and a slight tickle. I actually wish I had gotten the heavy duty / extra grit file roller because it probably would speed things up, but given that the file roller is replaceable I'll just buy that one when the time comes.
This tool seriously changed my feet, I thought it might be too good to be true after such lackluster results from manually filing. But because it can file so much faster, it's so much more effective. It's like a tiny gentle Dremel for your feet. I'm seriously considering buying more as gifts for the other ladies in my family.

Spa day at home! Is there anything better?
My brand new elegant bedding set was a huge disappointment, because my feet were snagging on the top of the comforter. I had to pull down the covers just to relax on my bed. I decided to get serious about foot care, and thus began my investigation into the best tool for filing/sanding off that tough, dry, cracked heel skin.I've been using the Feet First Buffing Pad for about five years. It does a great job of removing tough skin, but it leaves the area roughed up, and quite snaggy on socks, etc. BUT, when used with the Amopè Pedi Perfect as a finisher, you have a dazzling duo!The day my Pedi Perfect arrived, I was so excited to try it out, that I headed directly for the bathroom! Positioning myself on the side of the bathtub with feet in the dry tub, I rolled up my sleeves (pantlegs) and nervously began to file. I could see the dust landing in the tub, so I knew it was removing dead skin. I didn't want to stay in one area too long, because one video reviewer said their feet sort of burned.After the first session, I could see this was going to take a few tries before my feet were sandal-ready for summer.The next day I soaked my feet in Epsom salts while watching a movie, a true spa experience! I then used the earlier mentioned buffer to remove the thickness more aggressively, dried my feet, and followed up with the Amopè. Each time, when I was finished, I rubbed on some Burt's Bees Foot Balm and covered with socks. There was an immediate difference, as my feet were no longer snagging on my comforter.The third time, I plugged the shower drain to catch water for soaking my feet while showering (multitasking!), with a little Lavender Epsom salts added for the experience. I used the Feet First Buffing Pad, dried off, and followed with the Amopè.I've had four sessions now, and am tremendously pleased with the results! My heels no longer look like a dry river bed with prehistoric tributaries running in every direction; no more thick, calloused, cracked skin! I am recommending this process to everyone who typically spends a pile of cash on pedicures. You can now take care of those gross heels on your own, with a very quick maintenance buzz over each foot!One reviewer said it tickled, but that hasn't been my experience, unless I go off of the areas with thick dry skin. The batteries that came with it seem fine, but maybe I'll decide differently once I change them. I'm going to order the 5-pack of rollers with some coarse and some fine, just to have on hand. It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. This product gets 5 stars because it's the best home-pedi tool I've experienced to date.You can see the progression in the photos from day 1 to day 4. I'm happy!
