    Built to Last

After decades of the strictest product standards and most rigorous of testing regimens, quality has become synonymous with the AKG name - and these headphones are no exception. From intensive driver stress tests to an 80,000 bend cycle for cables and even an exaggerated drop test we put our headphone designs through the gauntlet, so you can count on them for years to come! All of the critical pieces are metal, including the hinge, guaranteeing they last through heavy use. Additionally the cable is replaceable further extending the life of your investment.

    Take the Studio With You

With a completely foldable design made possible through an innovative three axis hinge the K245 can easily be collapsed. This means they are great for transporting in tight places like travel bags. The design minimizes the exposure to damage that comes with the demanding mobile lifestyles of musicians, producers and audio engineers.

    Make Music in Comfort

No more tugging and pulling to adjust the fit of your headphones. The AKG 245 are the first foldable, studio-quality headphones in their classes to offer a self adjusting headband, floating ear cups and an innovative three axis hinge to provide you with an instant, all over perfect fit with every use. And they don't just fit well, they feel good. Painfully uncomfortable after an hour or so, BUT easy fix with pad swap.
    3 Stars
Painfully uncomfortable after an hour or so, BUT easy fix with pad swap.
The stock pads are not quite tall or deep enough. My ears touch the top and bottom of the pads while wearing which in itself causes some discomfort. These pads being relatively shallow is the worst of it however. This pushes my ears against my head and against the hard speaker cover inside the headphones. These were on the painful side of uncomfortable for me to wear after an hour or two.Luckily, I have spare pads laying around for other headphones. I replaced the stock pads with a set of "brainwavz" oval pads for ATH5-M50X. Yes, the headphones have a round design, but trust me, the oval pads fit just fine, look good, and give your ears some extra space both vertically and depth wise. I used the micro suede on mine, but it's up to you they have several material choices. Just know that each material will change the frequency response (make them sound different). If you do a pad swap: oval pads should be offset so they sit at the same angle as your ears while worn (not perfectly vertical). As far as sound goes, well these are 80$ headphones so should be judged as such. They don't sound amazing, but seem relatively robust in construction, fold for portability, and have a sleek look. I used these alongside a k712 pro for about a week. These had smaller soundstage, imaging was not as precise, more low end/bass than the k712. That's not to say that these are "basshead" cans. The k712 is light on bass.
