A country-pop singer with a smooth, easy touch, a fondness for light R&B flair, and a knack for sweetening the swagger of bro country, Cale Dodds first gained attention as a performing artist in 2017 and 2018 with a series of singles highlighted by "Take You Back." Prior to launching a recording career, Dodds worked as a Nashville songwriter. A native of Columbus, Georgia, he moved to Nashville in 2011 after attending Columbus State University. As a professional songwriter, his most notable song was "Drunk Dial," which was recorded by A Thousand Horses in 2015; after it made 23 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, Dodds signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell. A year before "Drunk Dial," Dodds self-released his debut EP, Wild and Reckless. In 2016, he released a second EP called People Watching.
