Customers are dissatisfied with the stability of the trailer. They mention that it's difficult to turn, and the tires can free spin. The hand crank works well, but it'd be tough to crank and steer with the dip/slope. When the trailer is on any slope, it begins rolling backwards until you can reengage the brake.

The Trailer Valet XL had a hard time pushing or pulling the trailer on the flat pavement, and absolutely could not push the trailer wheels over a less than 1" ridge where the cement pad met the pavement. We tried everything - making sure the trailer brakes were locked out, purchasing a new corded high-torque drill, using the hand crank, etc. The tires would just slip on the pavement, the unit would bind up, etc. Even adding weight on the tongue didn't help. We ended up just pushing it by hand with a couple of people, no problem doing it by hand - I was just hoping the Trailer Valet would be a one person solution and remove the dependency on having people around.
This brings us to the heart of the matter - the energy and time expended with the Trailer Valet XL is probably more than just doing it another way. If you can't do it by hand, it is unlikely that the Trailer Valet will be able to do it effectively either.
The Trailer Valet XL might work on a small light trailer, but only on flat pavement, and nowhere near its rated capacity - it might hold something bigger, but it won't move it effectively based on my hours of trying to get it to work. Traction with the small rounded tires seems to be the biggest issue for heavier trailers, as well as some issues with ratcheting and binding every now and then inside the unit.
It's a good thought, but like everything else that seems too good to be true, it fails in its implementation.
We did have to move out battery from the forward position back next to our gas tank (see attached pic) but that was easy enough and the Valet slotted over the welded base plate the old lift jack used. Installation, with the battery move, took about an hour.
We weren't able to get traction on the grass, as some other reviews have stated. Honestly, I wouldn't have expected it to in our situation as it was extremely soft ground and it was practically in a hole. Once on the driveway, it was a breeze to move around. We do have a flat driveway so there was no issue with hills, etc. The small bump we have to get over the threshold of the garage does require me to put the lever in the low speed connection as the high speed doesn't have the torque to get it over that small bump. We also have to be careful when rolling the trailer out as the handle will spin really fast/hard as it hits that spot...watch your hands!

I have a 6x10 Cargo trailer conversion, and it needs to fit through a space with less than 6" clearance on either side. I just can't do it. I used to use a trailer dolly, but it wasn't rated for the tongue weight, and it still took 3 people to push the trailer where it needed to go.
After installing the Trailer Valet, I was able to crank the trailer off the concrete drive onto the grass, and then onto a pad for storage. You must hold the steering bar up to unlock the chain, and swivel the handle to steer. Problem is that you cannot see where you are going and need someone as a ground-guide. I am considering putting a wireless camera in back with a magnet mounted monitor on the tongue box to see. The soft ground did not pose a problem. Being bent over while turning the low-range crank is a problem. The upper high-speed shaft was too hard to turn. Using a drill is much easier, but they are extremely proud of their drill adapter. (Amazon B07774FXRP)It took me about $4 and 15 minutes to fashion an adapter which could be used with a standard 7/8" 12pt. socket. If possible I recommend using a right angle drill, it will save your back a lot.
