Nice modern TV for the price
Downsized and moved to a tiny bungalow. Got rid of several huge TVs before I moved and decided not to get another one since I could use the laptop to watch videos and movies. I impulsively bought this on Prime Day figuring that for $120 it was a pretty safe gamble, and I'm happy with it.It's quite light - I think 15 lbs, and I kept the box so it will be easy to move. The setup was easy. Got it connected to WiFi and then it was just a matter of waiting for things to download - maybe 30 min. There are a lot of apps for content. I also connected it to an indoor antenna and get a few stations. The picture is sharp and vivid at the default settings. The sound is fine for me but I'm not an audiophile and don't listen to music on it. For watching movies on Prime and watching video from non-mainstream news apps, which is mostly what I do, it's very nice. The interface is not very efficient. You can go to live TV with one button, but to get to your media apps it takes some futzing unless you have used it recently enough for it the app you want to still be on the main screen recent apps lineup. There is an Apps menu item on the main screen but it just takes you to the app store. The remote generally works fine but for some weird reason about 50% of the time when I turn it off with the power button on the remote it goes off, then turns itself back on a minute later. The other 2 minor disappointments are: The built in Silk browser app. It does work but the way you have to move the mouse around with the arrow keys is punishing. If the button you want to push is small it's hard to get the cursor to line up with it so it will register a click. The USB port is only for reading media off of a USB drive. There is no power or driver for a USB external DVD drive. So I'll still play my library DVDs on the computer.
