Really good for the price! No prior knowledge required for the installation of the Short Ram Intake; just unplug the old one and installe the new one, all you'll need to use is the sensor form old intake to be attached to the filter-end of the pipe, right before the filter.- Remove Fan Shroud (top)- Disconnect the old intake (flex-pipe and box)- Pre-assemble the pipe and the 2 rubber ends before mounting (this will make your installation easier)- Mount the new intake (Just the pipe to the throttle body)- Tie the rings once position has been set- Attach isolating panels of the new intake with the moldings to where the old box used to sit on- Screw the pipe to the side wall of the new panels- Attach sensor to the of the new pipe- Attach the cone filter to the rubber end- Tie all rings once position has been set- Reinstall Fan ShroudNo need to trim the fan shroud after installation for fitting if placed in the correct position (make sure the rubber does NOT bend when pressing the Fan Shroud so it doesn't get damaged).Once all steps above are completed it's time to go for a test drive. Good luck.

This product is high quality as described. Only two issues make it a 4, not 5 star product. First, there are no instructions. Second, the hose clamps are inferior junk that cannot be sufficiently tightened before failing. Other than those issues, the fit is as described and it looks great on my 2004 GMC Sierra 4.8L. It clearly provides significantly more airflow and increased horsepower. We'll see about a gas mileage increase in about a week. I followed a youtube installation instruction video for a similar product which worked out fine.

No installation instructions, so watch tube videos. Not an exact fit, used a 6in piece of rubber air duct from my original air filter tube to extend it into the area where I removed the old filter box. Installation time, (it took me aprox. 4 hours). Once installed and took a test drive it was just Okay leaving my neighborhood. However, at a running speed of about 35mph I goosed it and man did the harmonica sing out!!! Really cool, loud, loud 4-barrel Holly carburetor type harmonics. Love it! It is supposed to give me increased gas milage. But Because I like the sound so much, that is not likely. LOL. 2003 remanufactured GM Chevy Silverado 4.8L engine with 20K mi.

I installed this in my 2004 GMC Yukon 5.3 with 203,000 miles and noticed a difference in power and sound (obviously) right away. I've never done this before but from what I can tell it works good. I also noticed at least 1 to 2 mpg better even though I was flooring it alot the first couple days. It only took me 30 mins to install and thats including taking out the stock parts and taking it out of the box and figuring out how it all goes together. The only downside is that there are no instructions. YouTube videos of a different brand being installed helped even tho I just skimmed through the videos. My biggest peice of advice is to think it through so you don't have to take stuff back several times like I always do when working on cars and like I did on this intake 😂

Update ** fitment is good, just seems like an inch too long had to shove it in to fit past the fender, for the people saying they have to cut their fan shrouds, you have the 90* boot the wrong way. Looks good other than the big dent in the side of the pipe and the boot is torn, would appreciate a replacement but that probably won’t happen.

Horrible. Pipe came dented all up and the 90* boot has a tear in it. Haven’t even tried to test for fitment

Assembly was a little tricky, and while it's still an n/a engine, you pick up a little low end tourque, and a little bit more peak. Just enough to notice. Running an 01 silverado with a stock 5.3, it resonates a lot better, and I picked up roughly 1 mpg. Only thing I've done to my rig is cut the muffler off (which is surprisingly quite, just makes it easier to tell if the truck is on or not), msd streetfighter coils, 8.5 wire, ngk plugs, and I'm getting right around 17, 18 on a good day. Throttle response is pretty solid as the engine doesnt try to struggle sucking in air, and overall way worth the money. One little thing I have going, and this is just my own problem because my truck was stolen, is that fitting the air filter to the mass air flow sensor requires a $17 spectre reducer (4in to 3.75in). The only real reason I need this is because someone took the whole thing (except for the plates) and the adapter doesnt fit on the mas. In reality, it's a personal preference if you'd want to do the same, but the original couple on the mas worked well. Although I am half tempted to pick up another just for a more secure fit on the tubing half of the mas. Installing it takes a little time I'd you've never done it before, but it's not hard by any means. Fit everything together loosely, then tighten everything, starting from the throttle body.

It doesn't claim that it fits 8.1L Engine but I had no trouble fitting it onto the throttle body, everything fit as well as it could. Rubber sleeves were a little cheaply made but in the end it so far has worked out well, very on par for the price and tube and filter were basically what you would get from the average CAI kit (reasonably priced)
