I purchased this primarily to slow my cat down when it came to meal time, she would sometimes eat too fast and upset her stomach. After multiple cleanups on both hardwood and my carpet.. I looked into various options to slow down feeding time.
This feeder is great, it has simple construction and each of the feeding cups and the base silicone mat are easily removed for cleaning.The feeding cups are of varying sizes which presents a fun little game for the cat to resposition to best angles for pulling out bits of food. I also started rotating this feeder at random to help keep the cat engaged from different angles.
The mat around the base is good for when bits of food get pulled out of the cups and dont get caught in time. I keep this in my hallway as an alternate food source as it doesn't take up much space. It's also very stable with no noticed problems of it tipping/rocking or making any noise when the cat is engaged with it.
Overall solid product thats easy to clean while slowing down my cat at meal time with a bonus of some enrichment. Can't beat that for $15.

Breaking news: Idiot cat figured it out!
I'll be honest, my cat is kind of an idiot. Like a smart idiot? I can teach him to sit on command but he still runs head first into the bathtub. So I knew that ordering this would be taking a chance.At first, Casper (idiot cat) didn't seem interested in it at all. I had pretty much given up on it, to be honest. And then we got the news: Casper is fat! I had to put him on a diet! Unfortunately, this meant that he ate his food too fast and then was sad that it was gone.Puzzle feeder to the rescue!I now put Casper's kibble in this feeder and it keeps him occupied for around an hour. He eats, gets frustrated, walks away, and then comes back when he's hungry again. No more crying that the food is gone too fast!Ultimately, he's gotten very good at this feeder, and I wish there were ways to mix it up a little for him. Alas, it looks like I'll be purchasing more plastic from Amazon in the future. The important thing is that Casper has lost a full pound, isn't mad at me for the diet, and has some interactive time as well.Tl;Dr this took my cat a long time to figure out, but necessity got him to use it and now it's one of his favorite things!
