Formerly known as Transmission Stiction Eliminator, or TSE transmission fluid, Hot Shot's Secret Shift Restore Automatic Transmission Protectant was designed to meet the ever-evolving demands of sophisticated transmission systems. This transmission conditioner high performance ester formula is a unique lubricity and cleaning agent, that tenaciously attaches itself to all metal parts that it comes in contact with inside the transmission. The strong polarity pulls deposits off the metal surfaces and puts them back into solution. The metal in a transmission is nearly always positively charged while Shift Restore is negatively charged. Attachment of a thin layer of Shift Restore to all metals is natural and not dependent upon temperature, pressure or anything else. An added benefit is a reduction in temperature due to less friction on the critical moving parts.

The Shift Restore formula works by dissolving varnish and additive residue inside your transmission to eliminate stiction and reduce your friction coefficient. In addition to providing wear protection and rust prevention, this formula has been proven to improves your fuel economy. Reduce transmission wear, erratic and inconsistent shifting, hesitation and rough operation, noise and vibration when you choose to treat vehicles with Hot Shot's Secret Restore Automatic Transmission.

To use Hot Shot's Secret Shift Restore, add 1.5 ounces per quart of transmission fluid to your engine. A 5% concentration of Shift Restore, or a 1.5-ounces-per-quart treatment, is the perfect amount for helping your vehicle reach maximum friction reduction. By raising concentration up to 7.5%, or 2.4 ounces per quart, you can achieve maximum seal and ring protection. Use in any automatic or CVT transmissions, not for manual transmissions.

    Prior to adding the shift restore, my 2016 F250 (6.7l) was having some pretty strange and hard shifting, particularly between 2nd and 3rd gear. It would happen randomly, but sometimes felt like someone was hitting the transmission with a sledge hammer. So, I decided to try the shift restore. Around 145K miles, I drained the old fluid, dropped the pan, replaced the filter and added the fluids including the shift restore. I drove for a while (month or so) and gradually noticed that the odd 2nd and 3rd gear shifting had completely disappeared. All of the shifts (1-6) were smooth again, like the day I bought the truck. I was really skeptical about adding this to the transmission, but really happy I did. I'll be adding another one next transmission oil change for sure. Just keep in mind, it doesn't work immediately, you need to drive for a while before you notice the improvements.

    So I was having an engine code for a bad shift solenoid in my Automatic 2008 Scion xB as diagnosed by my Toyota Dealer. Decided to try this additive before I do the expensive repair. It was easy to use just pour it in to your transmission. Didn't work immediately but after maybe a week of driving, my engine lights went away and my car was shifting normally. I was so relieved that I didn't have to pay for a costly repair. It would have been a $1000 job to replace the shift solenoid with labor and $200-300 to order the part and replace myself. Thank goodness I tried this first!

    This product is great. My Tiguan had flair up when shifting from 2-3 and 3-4, I was driving like I normally would to have it happen as it would only really happy when you were c driving normal to speed limit and by the time I turned from a stop it was already showing signs of it being gone. I drove another little bit and doesn’t seem to do it at all.
    To also add I did change my oil with liquid moly atf 1200 which is a very common type of oil for most vehicles.
    But this product is great only having to use 1/4 of it, this will be great when you have multiple vehicles or something that you don’t have to buy each time. Unless your a big truck

    We own a Ford Fusion V6 3.0L AWD, 2010. First, the PTU failed in November 2022. A week later, the left axle seal failed and in March the right axle seal fail despite we have regiliously changing transmission fluid every 50,000 km. On google, it would seem Ford PTU is notoriously prone to failure. After fixing all the leaks at a reputable shop, I noticed shift up 2/3 is really rough especially when it is cold outside (-5C or below). Reading on amazon, I thought I would give this product a try. Added about 10 Oz and I thought it might take a while, but saw the effect right away. The shift is much smoother and the "kick up" is gone. Drove another 50 km and same positive effect. Very happy and will update after a few months of driving. So far, so good.
