Customers like the performance and ease of use of the auto part. For example, they mention that it works better than name brands, and is simple to use. That said, some complain about the suction. They say that it can't get any suction, the hose clogs too easy, and that it doesn't pull the vacuum as hard as it should. Opinions are mixed on durability, value, and ease bleeding.

Customers are mixed about the value of the auto part. Some mention that it works pretty good for the money, while others say that it sucks, doesn't work, and is a waste of time.

Customers are mixed about the ease of bleeding with some saying it goes along nicely, while others say it takes too long and is not a clean bleed.

Customers are dissatisfied with the suction of the brake cleaner. They mention that it does not work as expected, the hose clogs too easily, and the hole in the cap is too small. They also say that the product doesn't pull the vacuum as hard as it should, and that the lid gets completely stuck. Customers also say it's hard to seal the bleeder adapter and that it results in foamy brakes.
"...Seems as if it doesn't pull the vacuum as hard as it should, maybe it's got a air leak somewhere in the vacuum system or maybe it's just me, I do..." Read more

"...One complaint was with the bleeder adapter, it's very hard to seal the bleeder and resulted in foamy brake fluid in the suction line...." Read more
"...But couldn't get a good seal on the bleader screw with adapter for bleeder and I did use grease around the bleeder screw threads...." Read more
Customers are not happy with the air that the brake bleeder uses. They say it sucks more air than brake fluid, constantly pulls air into the system, and puts air back into the lines. Customers also mention that it uses tons of air for no results and is a total air hog.
"Does the job but for some reason when using it, I still see air in the lines when bleeding my brakes...." Read more
"...Does it blow? Yes, it does! It's a total air hog. It uses tons of air.Is it terrible? Yes, it is...." Read more
"...the trigger only half way to reduce the draw; but it kept getting more air than fluid. Just doesnt do a good job of drawing out brake fluid...." Read more
"...nipple doesn't start securely on it as evidenced by it visibly sucking air into the line...." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the leakage of the auto part. They mention that it leaks, does not refill the reservoir fast enough, and the front of the handle started to leak. The air leaks in through the bleeder screw threads. The connector to the bled valve is not the best seal, and it starts spitting fluid out of the vent before the canister is half full.
"...to more than half-way so when the fluid meets the straw, brake fluid goes up the nozzle and sprays out as a fine mist...." Read more
"...fluids so that is not the best and the connector to the bleed valve is not the best seal so you have to hold it the whole time, it works but I..." Read more
"...Even after all that! The air leaks in through the bleeder screw threads. So vacuuming out the fluid is highly inefficient...." Read more
"...This device makes it easier but still has the problem of vacuum leakage around the bleeder valve threads and the fitting to the bleeder valve...." Read more

This unit is simple in design. It's basically a levered one-way valve attached to a bottle. Air from the compressor goes through the bottle, up a straw, and out of the nozzle creating a vacuum inside the container. This vacuum then pulls in the liquid from the clear tube. Not rocket science, so what could go wrong? Well, enough where it didn't function out of the box.
The metal adapter that attaches from the handle of the unit to the air hose wouldn't fit. The threads didn't line up, it squeeked like mad going in, and even with a wrench it only made it about 1/4 of the way down the handle before it just wouldn't turn anymore. Talk about poor manufacturing quality and quality assurance. Luckily I had a spare Harbor Freight adapter lying around, so I wrapped the threads with some thread tape and the fit was perfect. But without the spare adapter lying around, I would have not been able to make it work with what came in the box.
The rubber attachment which goes over the caliper bleed port doesn't seal. It is tight enough where it creates a vacuum to draw out fluid, but I got a never-ending stream of air bubbles as well. Don't get me wrong, you are still evacuating fluid from the caliper, you're just not going to get a convenient tell-tale sign there is no more air in the lines. Lucky for me the fluid I was replacing was a different hue so I could easily tell when I was drawing new fluid.
Lastly, the tapered bottle which holds the used brake fluid is deceptively large. The straw inside the unit goes down to more than half-way so when the fluid meets the straw, brake fluid goes up the nozzle and sprays out as a fine mist. Not so good when brake fluid is toxic and corrosive to paint. So make sure you get a magic marker and mark the length of the straw so you know when it is full, and point the nozzle in a safe direction just in case.
The new fluid container worked perfectly. It comes with a set of plastic adapters for your master brake cylinder reservoir which made filling the fluid throughout the job an effortless, spill-free affair.
As far as CFM and Air Compressor requirement goes, the manual it came with lists 90-120 psi as its operating range. I have a 6 gal pancake oil-less compressor which only operates at 2.5CFM at 90psi, and I managed to get the job done. So I wouldn't worry too much about air compressor requirements.
Overall, given the price point which is lower than its competitors and Harbor Freight, and the awesome same-day Prime delivery, I can't complain. Given what I know now about the unit, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others if they are looking for a simple unit to do a few casual jobs. Just make sure you have a spare air hose quick coupler adapter lying around because the one it comes with doesn't work.
This is easy to use & very effective.
I have a large 20 gallon compressor, but I think most pancake compressors should be adequate.
