Power delivery enhancements
The 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen processors boast more cores and bandwidth, demanding more power than typical desktop CPUs. Prime X570-P is geared up for the demands of these high-core-count processors, offering a stable power to ensure optimal performance.
Active Chipset Heatsink Solution
PCIe 4.0 provides twice the bandwidth for data flowing through the chipset, which creates more heat than the previous generation. The Prime X570-P features an actively cooled heatsink to prevent throttling during sustained transfers.
Dual PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots
With PCIe 4.0 M.2 Slot supports up to 22110 and provide NVMe SSD RAID support for an incredible performance boost. Create a RAID configuration with up to two PCIe 4.0 storage devices to enjoy the fastest data-transfer speeds on the 3rd Generation AMD Ryzen platform.
Ultimate-speed 10Gbps with USB 3.2 Gen 2 onboard
With backward-compatible USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, you'll experience ultimate connection flexibility and blazing data-transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps.
Cooler by design
Prime X570-P features comprehensive cooling controls, configurable via Fan Xpert 4 or the UEFI BIOS. Each header can dynamically reference 3 thermal sensors, and via Fan Xpert 4 you can even map the temperature of supported ASUS graphics cards to optimize cooling for GPU and CPU-intensive tasks.
Outshine the competition
ASUS Aura Sync offers full lighting connected via the motherboard's RGB headers, with a variety of functional presets for external LED strips. And it can all be synced with an ever-growing portfolio of Aura-capable ASUS hardware.

This was a very good buy, the price was super reasonable at the time. I didn't want any of the wifi crap so this board was a double bonus, it has many USB ports, it runs well, I've never had a problem with it aside from having to update the bios when I first got it as the 5600x was brand new at the time and the patch had just come out.
I liked this board so much that I recommended it to my father when he upgraded a year ago (I think this board is no longer for sale new though since then?) He did end up buying it and he didn't have any problems either, we're both enjoying this board and if I could I'd buy more just to have around for other machines, its a solid board and it'll do a lot if you need it to.
I got mine from Tekbuff at a great deal. I came across state without it's original box which made me nervous, but it still arrived in a protective bag and basic packaging and as result: in perfect condition as advertised. They left a small letter asking to leave good "Seller Feedback," but I can't find that so far on Amazon. I'm leaving this here just to say they are FIVE STARS.
Here's how I did it:
1.) BIOS SETTINGS:
-disable secure boot and wipe ALL KEYS
-set OS type to “Other OS” in that secure boot window.
-enable Compatibility Support Module (with boot device control set to Legacy & UEFI)
-disable the IOMMU controller
-enable SVM mode (virtualization)
Linux Mint & Ubuntu users are good to go; Arch Linux users need to follow step 2 below
2.) pre-installation
-Use a Linux Mint LiveCD to pre-format your drive into 3 partitions:
a. 600mb vFAT drive
b. 200-1TB ext4 drive
c. 2-16GB SWAP partition
3.) Actual Install (tutorial here works for Archlabs Linux)
-boot into the USB in LEGACY mode using the F8 boot menu
-before running archlabs-installer, run these two commands:
mkfs.vfat -F32 /dev/nvme0n1p1
mkfs.ext4 -q /dev/nvme0n1p2
remember to replace the above labeled partitions with your actual partitions
Now run archlabs-installer
-once you reach the main menu, skip down to option 4.1 “mount partitions” and follow the instructions to reformat your GRUB and ROOT partitions. Do NOT reformat your partitions using option 2 in the main menu.
-continue as normal
It had just came out when I originally got it and there were some growing pains like all the other x570 platforms. But I'm happy to say all the bugs are pretty much kinked out. The only one I still experience is getting into the bios, sometimes the keyboard isn't recognized and I have to pop it into another usb to get it to work. (Or you can shift click the restart button to get into the bios.) I honestly don't really blame asus for this one, x570 has been plagued with usb problems since launch. It had been 10 years since motherboard manufacturers had to worry about integrating a new pcie standard.
My computer actually fell off my bed smashed into a stud and left a dent in the dry wall, the case went from rectangle to a trapezoid shape and the X570-P survived. It's fair to say the build quality on this thing is excellent lol.
Buildzoid said they're using the same components on the high-end asus boards as they do on this board, which was a pleasant surprise to you know that asus won't reduce the quality of it's components to meet a certain price point, but also that you won't be limited in the quality of overclock you can obtain.
Sure the GFX card will cover the chipset fan, but they also do on most other boards of this size as well. Also there's a good chance the fans from your gpu will assist in the keeping it cool. Hasn't been an issue.
If you're wondering if you'll regret buying this guy, versus some of the flagship boards, you won't. Not all of us need, wifi (pssh on a desktop?), a bunch of usb-c connections or fancy m.2 heatsinks.

I paired it with a Ryzen 3600 and plan to upgrade a 5900x in future, so getting a x570 means less of a hassle in terms of bios compatibility.
I picked this board mainly off hardware unboxed vrm thermals benchmarking showing that it punches above it's budget in terms of vrm quality, so I guess it'll easily handle the new Ryzen 5900X that I plan to get sometime in future.
I've manually undervolted my CPU using Ryzen master, so I haven't noticed the voltage spiking under PBO like at least one of the other reviews.
Cons:
- The chipset fan, 1 nvme slot as well as some sata ports will be blocked by the graphics card. so make sure you plan ahead with your build/cabling with regards to the nvme slot as well as sata ports.
- The BIOS looks like it was built by the lowest bidder, but it's sadly quite common across the market anyway
If you don't need features like a bios quick reset button, usb-c ports or built-in bluetooth and wifi, and you don't want to spend too much, I'd recommend at considering this board.
