Customers are mixed about the stability of the toy. Some mention that it's very stable, with little risk of tipping over, while others say that the plastic is worn and keeps slipping off, the rear wheels aren't true and wobble a lot. "...Tips very easily and is very slow when she is riding it. It is also now too small. We also have a fisher price rock, roll and ride trike...." Read more

Customers are mixed about the maneuverability of the product. Some mention that it's very easy to maneuver, easy to pedal and steer, and that the air tires make it roll very easy. However, others say that the seat was wobbly and the handlebars turned without turning the front wheel, making it impossible to pedal. Some customers also mention that the wheels won't turn and that one of the rear tires regularly has restricted spin due to FOD. They have to send it back, unfortunately.

The build quality is what failed to get it that last star. It's pretty good over all. It seems sturdy, has real tires and a luster to the paint. My only issue is the steering. The fork tube has no bearings, instead it passes through a plastic bushing in the frame and that clamp you can see in the pictures, which hold the handle bars in place is also the only thing preventing the forks from coming out and due to this design it is nearly impossible to eliminate all sideways play in the forks. Now I understand this is a small childs trike and not designed to take a great deal of weight or miles and miles of use but had Schwinn used a threaded tube for the forks and have a nut on the top for fixing and adjustment instead of relying on the handlebar clamp I would have given it a 6 out of 5. You may think I am being picky and maybe I am but really I bought Schwinn for the style, AND the build quality and I found this part of the trike cheap and was very disappointed by it. Doing it right might cost a little more but if the Trike had been $10-$15 more expensive as a result I would have happily paid it to have something well make througout.
However all being said, I would recommend this trike, it's still a better buy than most and should last until my daughter graduates...... to a bike with training wheels.
We love the price point, sporty retro look but more so, the overall quality and weight of this trike. Compared to other similar trikes, this actually has metal body and rubber tires where most others are completely plastic, even the tires. Daughter loves the bell and streamers and that she can go fast and take sharper turns without worry. However, because the trike is metal, it is heavier and harder to pedal. At first she would tire out rather quickly but as we ride more, she is building up strength and endurance.
We received many compliments while riding this trike. Little boys and girls point to it and ask their parents for the same thing. It is a cool little trike!
We are very happy with this addition to our fleet and will get many years of use out of this as it gets passed along down the line of children.
